Where are the best pies in Chiang Mai

I'm in CM for the night and fancy a decent pie.
    Any helpful suggestions?

I had breakfast at O'Malley's at lunch time today and it was quite good. The pre breakfast pint of G went down well.

Trouble is they don't seem to do proper pies, just the bowls of filling covered with a flaky pastry lid.
The Red Lion pies look OK ish on their website.
It's all within staggering distance so I'll have a bit of a look.

Do not, on any account, ever eat anything at the UN Irish pub.

    The food is dire, ime.

I'm afraid the Red Lion is little better. We're starved of decent pub grub.

Riverside Bar and Restaurant isn't bad, but it's more international and Thai food.

Oh and if you walk down past the Red Lion there is an Aussie Pub at the end on the right. I think he might do pies there as well.

Of course now we'll know who ate them all.

    Does it.
Trouble is that probably involves things like electric portable telephones with things called apples or something none of which understand me, unfortunately.

I have heard some good reports about the pies there (UN Irish) though. Did have one once ages ago but can’t recall much about it now.

Mind you anything is a disappointment after the pleasure of eating NZ pies. The worlds best, FACT!

Of course NZ is far better than Thailand, why would anyone want to live in a place like CM when they could be in pie heaven?

The fact that you eat in that windblown shithole the red lion shows how qualified you are.

    And...I don't plan to, A2.

It has to be said that the Red Lion Menu on line isn't inspiring.

'Dukes' is a diner that has its advocates. Good NY style pizza.

Dukes, when they had branches here were good food...sadly pie impaired though. As Cyrille said, great pizzas.

I ate at Dukes in the Night Market once. It was USA diet gone mad. I have to say I didn't enjoy it.
I considered trying their shrimp chowder and maybe a bit of salad this evening but looking at their menu I'll give it a miss.
I'm not a big meat eater which kinda precludes any USA base eatery. No disrespect meant.

The seppos rave about Dukes but the one and only time I went there, the service was abysmal and the food was as tepid as it was tasteless.

It's a bit out of your way, but The Flying Pig at Nimman Soi 15 does a very mean rack of ribs.

In fact the whole of Nimman is brimming with eateries of all kinds. Best food are in Chiang Mai in my opinion.
