Swiss tealeaf nicked on the way home

I'm only posting this to piss off snakeeyes.

But there is video of the scummy little thieves nicking the laptop.

Swiss couple to holiday in jail after alleged theft of Thai man’s laptop at Bangkok airport (VIDEO)

A Swiss couple that appear to have stolen a Thai man’s brand new laptop on CCTV at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport will reportedly be spending Christmas in jail.

In the clip, aired on Thai Channel 3, Anna Michaela Grob, 56, of Switzerland, appears to remove a new laptop from its box and conceal it with her jacket before walking away with her husband, identified as Romano, 61, when the Thai owner stepped away from his belongings.
When the Thai man, identified as Pasawat Jansuphap, returned to his things, he found only an empty box, so he filed a police report.
The event allegedly happened in October, when the couple arrived in the country. However, they were not arrested until they came back to the airport to board a flight home on Nov. 24. They were recognized by airport staff from the CCTV clip,
    Post Today reported.
The couple were charged with theft in an airport, reported to have a value of THB40,000.
They couple allegedly denied the theft but confessed after the police found the computer in their possession and showed them the clip of the theft.
Thai Visa reported that the couple spoke to Swiss media and called the incident “stupid” and were upset that they would be spending the holidays in jail since their court date won’t be until at least Jan. 11.
If they are found guilty, the punishment could be a five-year jail term and/or a maximum fine of THB10,000.

    Nothing would surprise me.

However, I suspect that the negotiations are well underway with a Christmas cake tin in close proximity.

Who the fcuk leaves a 40,000 Baht item on a chair and walks away. Only to return later to find it missing? I think a sting operation due to the clarity of the vid. The police do a lot of it at the market in the border crossing before Chong Chom. There they have cigarette sellers selling duty free goods. When farang buys, police appear and they're march to the cop shop to pay a hefty fee to be on their way. In the above case the police fcuked up and had to arrest them upon returning.

Give them a double punishment, one for stealing and one for lying. 10 years in jail and after that persona non grata.

Nothing incriminating in the video. Where's the owner of the laptop. How long did it sit there unattended? Did the Swissies see the guy leave it or did they happen upon it unattended. Might be a case of finder's keepers.

Shes the one in the back seat

She takes it out of its box puts it under her bag,, leaves the empty box then disappears with her husband who was sitting in the seat in front of her watching her do it

If she didn't see the guy walk off and leave it; what's keeping her from just saying she found it?

Ah the "I just found it so I decided to take it out of the box and hide it under my husband's shirt, I wasn't trying to nick it, honest" defence.

Not sure that will stand up in court.

She looks guilty the way she's taking it out of the box.

Still though if you're walking through an airport and take something sitting unattended on a chair, I'm not sure you could call it stealing.

Unattended money laying on the floor in the shopping aisles or behind the counter somewhere?

Anyway, stores are privately owned, not public spaces like airports.....big difference.

Should I turn myself in for keeping that 500 baht note I found a couple of weeks back?

No, you should wallow in your own guilt.

So far we have had someone's "fluid" concept of theft to a police conspiracy over a simple case of a thieving Swiss couple who are just low life scum. Hope they get a year in the Bangkok Hilton and a substantial fine.
