Pretty” conned me out of a million baht – says disappointed groom to be
A Lamphun man has complained to the government’s Damrongtham help center in Chiang Mai that he has been conned to the tune of a million baht by a “pretty” from a well known spa.
Tossaphon, 30, a pig farmer, said that Woraporn had strung him along and promised to marry him. He thought it was true love and kept loaning her money.
Even when she wanted to delay their wedding last December he kept on transferring money to her account.
In the end, what with the booking of the wedding hotel, the pre-nuptial photographs, the invitation cards and the outfits – along with the loans – she owed him a million baht.
He had gone to the police but when they tracked down Woraphon she said the money was given to her
The penny finally dropped for Tossaphon when the separation became longer and Facebook and telephone contact was blocked.
Then he found out this was not the first time that his potential wife had done this.
So on Thursday he went to Damrongtham to ask them to try and find her.
“She has done this before,” he said, “and I don’t want anyone else to get conned again”
