I collect folk masks. Most of my collection is packed up in boxes in Japan and the US. One of these days I’ll get off my duff and get them all sent here.

I collect strays.... (people, animals, etc.) lol

I collect fridge magnets from my travels. I end up collecting coins from all over the world, but I don't purposely collect them. I have bags of coins from places travelled that the currency exchange place won't take (trust me, I've tried).

I used to collect coats and shoes, but with moving as often as I do, I have to throw some things out over time.

Really? Tesco, Big C and 7 are the only places I get satang coins in change, and are the only place I unload them. I always unload my coppers to those 3.

    Only carry notes.

Coins I return with get chucked into a bowl for the maid to steal.

Don't really collect anything. The closest thing would probably be model Ferraris, but that's only as I picked them up while back in Milan last year, and kinda collected them in the 90's.

I collect knives, mainly folding knives but a few other variants that I find interesting.
And Scars seem to have collected quite a few of them over the years, yes a few from the knife collection!

"I only carry notes, but my maid is so poor she steals my throw-away coins..and I let her".
    Class act, all the way.

^ Trump said something like that the other day. Something along the lines of "I'm the most least boastful person, I'm not braggadicious at all"
You and Trump are very much alike...except he's tall.

More than anything, I tend to collect books of all sorts. I have heaps of them, both in bookcases and stored in crates in my garage. I really enjoy reading.

Krugerrand's are pretty cool to hold in you hand. Just kinda a PITA to carry around.

I gave all mine to my daughter, I was afraid airport security would grab them. She bought me some Bitcoin; which is much more secure and transportable.

I've been collecting a lot of magic internet money most recently.

Years ago I use to collect all those freebie glasses that came with cheap-arse bottles of Thai whiskey of varying quality. When I departed the Kingdom I left the door open and told the neighbours to help themselves to whatever they wanted. That collection is prolly now well spread around the apartment building.

Most of the stuff I collected remains in trunks in the States, but I have a few highlights here: I have a largish coin collection locked away in the US, but the two most interesting items (no idea about value) are Maria Theresa silver dollars (originally used by Napoleon to pay his troops while invading Egypt and widely counterfeited since then...gathered from various sources in Ethiopia) and the first paper money circulated by an independent country in Africa (Ethiopia). During the time I lived in Iran, I was fascinated by carpets and ghelims. I managed to send 17 of them to the States just after the revolution. A remnant of one became a sofa pillow here (after a careless maid spiked it). I also brought a Turkish ghelim for a bit of decorative floor covering. The bazaars in Isfahan and surrounding towns were filled with interesting ceramic and glass items, including a memorial plate of Reza Shah the Great, a tyrannical despot who tried to build a modern Iran based on the Ataturk model of modern Turkey. His son bore witness to his failure. The smallish vase (in bad shape) I pulled from a roadside tel on my way to Tehran...the mound had shards everywhere and my original thought was to collect a few interesting pieces...this one turned out to be whole...finally, a framed piece of tile from Shah Mosque restoration that was being carried out in the 70s. A friend was admiring the tiles which had been removed and put to one side while the dome was being reinforced. A friendly watchman gifted her this one. Afraid she'd be accused of ripping off an historical site, she left it with me and it was transported out with my carpets. One day, I'll give it back...
