As a nation, they are arrogant and play the victim card for what happened to their grandparents/great grandparents, or worse (and probably more prevalent) they play the victim card for what happened to people, complete strangers and unrelated, who are of the same religion as them.

Israel is saved from a guaranteed top spot by the fact that most people in world (lucky them) just never meet Israelis. They are without doubt, the worst people in the world. And not because of their hideous, murderous, apartheid state but because most Israelis are just fucking indescribably awful people.

The English, too, obviously deserve an honourable mention. Lumpen-headed cretins on the whole but not capable of causing the global catastrophes which America precipitates and not as individually repulsive as Israelis. Australians belong in the same category, being mostly stupid, cultureless arseholes (with a marked tendency to be racist as fuck) but they're also easily spotted and avoided.

^^ Americans give very generously to charity, the country is obviously a centre of innovation and scientific progress, and in many ways, it's been a model of democracy and of an open society (however floored the reality might have been, especially in recent years). I think the artistic impact of America is perhaps waning a little but for much of the post-war era, art, (proper) music, literature, the cinema, etc. were all very vibrant in America.

Ray is absolutely right. Despite the very obvious failings of America, it's also given the world an enormous amount and it's as stupid to ignore the great things which America has contributed to the world as it is to ignore its crimes.

Yes this is true but it also has the largest amount of income inequality in the world. It is the richest nation on the planet but the most unfair when it comes to spreading the wealth.

That is why its middle class has the lowest quality of life of all the industrial nations. This is due to a very diabolical political system as the US is fully controlled by .01% of the population. Since Reagan was elected these oligarchs have raped the economy by using the fallacy of trickle down economics.

I was kinda hoping France was gonna win.

It is a sad reflection of the times , when this earth was blessed by my English gentlemans birth the Earth was blessed by the British Empire , the English abroad where admired, and quiet rightly so. Sadly in my twilight years this is no longer the case.
Its now a shocking state of affairs.

I'm not certain of the perception people, other than that has been voiced here, have of the USA but must add that I realized long ago it is a Cemetery. To that point it seems folks are afraid and want to put a fence around her because all types of people are just dieing to get in.

I still regard her as the land of opportunity and should some day write a book. Hell I may even make a buck on it. Haha.

I get it that it's easy to blame NAFT (that I hated at the time) and Billaries politics as well as Regonomics/ more atomics and piss on the poor philosophies much less the beat around the Bushmaster eras but I've been taugh that your reap what you sow and in that I get your points.

Shoot, I forgot to mention Nixon, Carter and Ford. Personally I'm not too proud of their policies but as for my lot in life now regardless of what they've done for themselves and the people I could complain but would rather be on my merry way. Good talk though folks.

To that I'll add that I'm not retired yet and the gf wants me off this phone so we can do what couples do or should do in their free time. Life is good so I don't want to piss her off.

Although my vote is in a minority, it's a vehement and loud vote. It has to be Israel.

For all it's faults, the US has many redeeming factors whereas Israel has none to outweigh it's criminal existence and brutal expansion.
