SAMUT PRAKAN - A 21-year-old driver arrested for stabbing to death his Chinese employer told police his boss had held him at knifepoint and demanded he perform oral sex, and he was only fighting back.

Sitthiya Netiwanpong was apprehended at his girlfriend’s house in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district, where he was hiding.

Wang Ping, 56, a Chinese national, was dead in the restroom on the second floor of WEP Industrial Co in tambon Bang Phla of Bang Phli district when police and rescue workers called to the scene arrived about 3.30pm on Monday, said Pol Lt Col Suraran Sribooncharoenchai, chief investigator at Bang Phli.

Wang, who ran the firm, had 12 stab wounds to his body. A pair of black gloves and a cloth bag containing a bloodstained 20-inch knife were found in the sink.

Investigators learned that the murder suspect was the dead man's driver, Mr Sitthiya, who had fled in a company van.

Police later found the van parked at the slain man’s house at Prueksa housing estate in tambon Bang Poo, Muang district of Samut Prakan. Mr Sitthiya had left on his bike, which had been parked at the house, according to police.

He was tracked down at his girlfriend’s house.

According to police, Mr Sitthiya said he had worked as the 56-year-old Chinese businessman's driver for two years and they had no disputes.

He said he and his boss had been together in the meeting room on the second floor. His employer used his hand to touch his legs and tried to molest him, he claimed.

When he fended him off Wang put a knife to his neck and forced him to go to the restroom, where he demanded his driver perform oral sex on him, Mr Sitthaya claimed. When Wang started to take down his pants, he grabbed the knife, stabbed the man to death and fled.

Police charged him with murder and held him in custody for legal action.
