Thailand Taxi (1?????? 6 ???) | Lazada.co.th
Went to three more "new" 7-Elevens yesterday while out walking
i was intrigued when i first saw this thread, as i collect model cars, however having actually seen them in the metal, i dont think i will bother. they are tiny and of very poor quality, although as playthings they are up to the job.
strange thread.
The rest of us buy the toys for our kids mate.:)Quote:

But, no you were selfish and played with it! I bet you lost Oddjob and his spare within the first week.:)
The original was gold as the company were trying to pre-empt the Goldfinger movie.
The real car was silver and changed on subsequent models.
^ It was the late sixties, Luigi, so I'm not as old as I look. :) I'm just pleased I can still remember it from all those years ago. At the time, Thailand was just a place that appeared in my stamp collection. Alas, no toy Thai taxis.
Anyway, when I mentioned the Taxi and Mont Clair lads' evening, I had you and Dillinger in mind. I'll bring the Lays crisps.
Punty can sit outside on the doorstep with Pat, smoking and reminiscing of the good times they once shared.
Your just after my spare red taxi

People collect stranger things. Like ex-wives or stamps or fountain pens or watches or...Quote:

i would love to find a decent model of the thai taxi, say 1:43 or 1:32 scale.
i am nostalgic for the british cars of the fifties, sixties and seventies that my dad used to talk about and that i would see on the streets. a collection brings back pleasant thoughts. when your kids grow up, they will remember those toys, and the taxis they see on the streets everyday and hopefully when they have finished playing with them, you wont throw them away, but keep them for when the nostalgia bug bites.
Could be a nice little investment to hide away in the attic and forget about..
You know, like those unopened Star Wars toys from the 70s that are worth thousands now..
oh.. actually maybe not
Had a look on e-bay and that Aston Martin is 40 quid.
ah yeah, fair enough. i was talking about the 267.
Yep a Toyota Corolla is such an enthralling car I am sure someone will make a model that can be repainted?Quote:

Our collecting got out of hand a few years ago, literally coming home with dozens every weekend from the car boot sale.
Had to bin all the crap plastic ones.
Now we have a few hundred diecast Corgi,Matchbox, Hotwheels, Dinky in two massive boxes in the play room.
When the boys have friends around to play, they carn't believe the variety and shapes of older vehicles.
All played with and scratched to ribbons as they should be.
However i do have well hidden, Mint 1980's Renault GT Turbo boxed.
Ferrari's and Porshce's are ten a penny, try and find an old Mini Metro or Escort Mk1.:)
If your interested, go to ebay type in Dinky and select most expensive first, you'll have a heart attack.
I bought a red one today ... for my grandkids :) .... whenever they might arrive in this world. Be prepared, na.
See how shiny the wheels are. Better than the real thing.
