you're a good un Nid, take no notice of your mom, the clocks went forward last night:)
mine passed years ago unfortunately and much too young. Beautiful woman inside and out, she always wanted a little girl, my dad gave her 4 boys, those boys gave her 3 more boys before she passed. I have 2 girls though, one named after her and I can see my mom in both of them:)
look after your mom, you only get one.
^gotta get some tissue:)
Yer a champ Nid, I was none the wiser.
My Mum went into hospital yesterday morning had a new knee put in yesterday afternoon. Just spoke to her this morning had breakfast and pain killers now looking forward to lunchtime.
Thanks for the reminder, Nid.
Done. One happy mother. :)
Glad to have helped. Its difficult to remember for us as the day is different here. I admit I normally forget, but was in UK a couple of days ago and saw it was coming. Left a few goodies around the house for the old girl.
Taking Mary to London on Mothering Sunday, going to lay a bouquet of flowers at Westminster bridge to remember the Mothers who lost their children.
It's showing the spirit of the Blitz, the stoic strength of My English Rose Mary. They cannot cower us Brits .
Then lunch at Coventry St at the "Budda Gump Shrimp Co" with head chef Forest.
Christ, what a load of mawkish old cobblers. Mothering Sunday is a contrived event, a bogus commemoration founded on celebrating mother church within christian liturgy that was hijacked in America for dreary sentimental reasons now capitalised by card companies, florists and restaurants.
Respecting motherhood on this day as some bullshit consolation for months of neglect is pitiful and utterly hypocritical.
Still, you're a kunt if you don't.
A simple Facebook message will suffice.
Fuck, says it all.
Gotta dip me hand in me cheepy Charlie wallet to purchase flowers, will the shop give discount for flowers on Westminster bridge, Mother's Day flowers are sooo overpriced therefore I want the daily rate, not triple price.
If they don't give me discount then I will go to the local cemetery, there's plenty of fresh free flowers on Mothers Day.
Thank you. Although it must be said that other bits and pieces are important too.Quote:

If you're interested the wiki article explains the history and diversity of the event throughout the world.

As an Antipodean, "Mothering" sounded rather coarse to my ears. Glad it was all about celebration of actual mothering.
