Has she got my lottery numbers?
So, she says a space probe will detect a new energy source on Venus in 2018?
This is the first test, we've got two candidates:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BepiColombo will pass Venus in 2020, so no.
Gravity Waves? Venusian Volcanism? Space Lightning?
2016, give her that, at a stretch...
2018, plausible, I guess...
2023... 6 years away...
Here's some science:
" Earth has settled in the last 20 million years into a pattern of a pole reversal about every 200,000 to 300,000 years, although it has been more than twice that long since the last reversal."
"The magnetic north pole has been creeping northward – by more than 600 miles (1,100 km) – since the early 19th century, when explorers first located it precisely. It is moving faster now, actually, as scientists estimate the pole is migrating northward about 40 miles per year, as opposed to about 10 miles per year in the early 20th century."
Signs of weakening polar magnetic fields are conditions for a flip:
Earth's Magnetic Field Could Flip in Our Lifetime
So it's not the most implausible idea... buy shares in compass manufacturers
2025... population disappearing in Europe? That's 500+m people.. poof! gone? really?
How are we defining Europe? It would have to be some kind of unprecedented biochemical, nuclear, or nano weapon, mass x-ray or gamma ray radiation or electricution event? or disease to do that... asteroid impact?
maybe something naughty at CERN? like brown hole?
hard to imagine really...
2028... voyages to venus?! Not the surface

But I know I'll probably die (if I'm lucky) around 2040 to 2053.
I got life insurance.
