RD, I see where your coming from and agree with most of what you say. We have imported enough problems without keeping them as well.
Unfortunately I don't know this woman's story. Is giving her one gigantic kick while she is down the answer. I would have to know more about her story than a brief synopsis to make that decision to kick her out permanently from Oz.
Some of us get a shit start in life that we just don't recover from because nobody gives a rats.
I have heard first hand some mate's life stories in which they had horrendous childhoods. Some had the mental toughness to get past it some didn't. We need admiration for the ones that got passed it and sometimes a little compassion for those that couldn't.

Pity she couldn't have done what reddog did and been originally transported to Oz by Barnardos.

Dr Bob, not a Pom and never heard of Barnards, had to look it up,what a cruel way for the Poms to treat poor children, sent them of to be farm workers and servants.

I was a migrant to OZ,made sure i was naturalised as soon as possible and assimilated

So i have zero sympathy for scum who want to live a criminal live style.

can you catch them like a cold or flu, or are they a genetic thing, like some cancers?

The irony of course is that Australians are genetically tainted by crim blood which makes their absurdly stupid attitude to this woman even more puzzling. Still, if they lack the moral fibre to accept their obligations to this woman as a resident then I suppose they could send her to the Aussie concentration camp in the Pacific.

Aussies really are turning into a nation of cvunts which probably makes them suitable partners for shitty little Engerlandia in its post Brexshit malaise of racist fascism and parochial cock sucking with the Commonfilth cousins.

Just because the woman is a recidivist criminal doesn't mean she is bad person and unworthy of Aussie residence.

Don't be such a sanctimonious arsehole, Davis. Her drug dealing has contributed mightily to the Aussie GDP and generated significant cash flow within the overall economy. The phenomenon is well recognised and in gauging overall GDP within, say, the EU, member countries have to take into account revenue associated with criminal activity such is the significant contribution it makes.

Jesus, in the US alone the drugs trade is worth $100 billion and generates huge demand for property, stocks and bonds and contributes to huge bank trading balances released for investment stoking consumer demand in every sector of society. UNODOC estimates that globally the illicit drugs industry is worth around $500 billions.

They ought to give the grannie a fucking pension for her contribution to society, not deportation, the ungrateful Ocker bastards.

I've thought about it. I/we score enough, but there are so many up front costs, hidden costs, and just costs in general, I can't quite see the financial benefit - Oz is not a cheap place like NZ. Having said that, the UK seems just as bleak; working at sea hasn't really delivered either. Time to get creative and think of a thing to do that pays well in place that's cheap.

Why is the UK bleak? Are you too poor to live there? It certainly is going to get more expensive after Brexit in 2019 when the accumulation in annual 3-4% inflation bites and all the taxes are raised accordingly. What you need is an inflation proofed pensionable income. Presumably our seaman's package will yield this. If not, then yes, your prospects are bleak, but probably so anywhere in the world.

It's probably quicker and easier just to agree with you... in the same way I would with my 5-year-old ...except that they tend to be fun to talk to.
When was the last time you were in the UK? Or worked in the UK? Are you trapped inside it or outside it?
I think the UK is bleak for my kids' generation... generation x at least can get help from baby boomer parents; but the latest generation is fucked.
fucked because of the EU... at least with Brexit there is hope of a growing export economy and tie ups with parts of Asia.
All those who rent out their houses to immigrants and foreign students and go and live in France etc... haven't helped the economy much.
the most unimpressive little houses priced at 700k, 900k, 1.1m... just surreal - why would anyone slave away to pay for these boring little hovels?

There are always cycles and localised microcycles, if anything there is more rapid changes up and down than there used to be, and lots to keep an eye on.
Surely the most inflation-proof pensionable income is one where you have growth, and growth in growth. This could be in the form of active and passive business; or rent out a house, but business might be better, now there are more taxes and admin on house-letting. It's the reliance on salary and the promise of a pension that is probably the mistake nowadays - trusting that structures and organisations will still be standing and delivering indefinitely... even these are getting cut even when you're in them. I try to nudge my kids into tech and doing a business. Brexit isn't a cause of instability it's a symptom of the disruption of large organisations whose purpose was defined by the post-WW2 world, and doesn't make sense any more.

    Here's another one ...

Drug syndicate participant spared jail due to prospect of deportation
An Adelaide woman convicted over a multi-million-dollar drug syndicate has been spared jail, with a
District Court judge saying she is "essentially a decent person".

Petra Camm, 40, was convicted of six counts of money laundering after pleading guilty during her trial back in April.
The court heard Camm collected six packages containing money from a post office in Adelaide's inner-west,
between November 2012 and January 2013.

The more than $400,000 of cash was connected to a syndicate which sent 1,200 kilograms of cannabis valued at
more than $7 million from Adelaide to Queensland and Western Australia.

Judge Steven Millsteed said Camm, a Czech national, would likely be deported from Australia if she was jailed
for 12 months or more and lose custody of her two young children.

"I am satisfied that deportation would cause not only exceptional hardship to you, but also to your children," Judge Milsteed said.
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...
