Then, it was nothing great, but for one night stay before very early morning flight, it was adequate. Now, it is really terrible and no one should voluntarily book this place. It is has only one good feature: it is very close to the Phuket Airport. If you have only a backpack, you could walk to the airport in about 35 minutes. Previously, there was someone at the "hotel" to greet you and show you your room. Now, no one except occasionally an elderly man who speaks no language but Thai. Last night at about 11 p.m. a German knocked on my door. He had a prepaid reservation but no one at the hotel to accept him. I found him an unlocked room and he stayed in it. He left in the morning having never seen anyone from the hotel. In my room, the TV did not work, but the air conditioner worked. In the German's room, the TV worked but not the air conditioner. There is no soap or shampoo. There is no bottle of drinking water, and no where to buy one without 15 minute walk. The Internet WiFi signal is strong, but the password written on the small fridge is incorrect (both rooms)! The German had a tea kettle while I had none, but unless you bring your own tea or instant coffee it matters not because none is supplied nor available for purchase nearby. Even if you can make tea or coffee there are no cups to put it in. My room has no key, the door cannot be locked from either inside or outside. Same with the German's room. In the past, soft drinks and beer and snacks were available for purchase, but no longer. There are no drinking cups supplied. No clocks. No wake up calls. No transfer from or to the airport, free or otherwise, provided by the hotel. No phone number to call for assistance! There are three lights in my room, only one works. There are no chairs in the room. The mattress on the bed must be 20 years old, it is completely worn out, the springs poke me in the back. A woman, presumably the owner, did appear hours after I complained to the elderly man. She told me the hotel is a loser for the owners and they want to sell, they have no money for maintenance or improvements of any kind. She could not make my TV work. When she found out I wanted a "late checkout" in the afternoon, she insisted I pay for another night. I negotiated a 50% discount and in the morning she brought me a tea kettle, instant coffee, a cup, and a bottle of water. She agreed to provide transportation to the airport for the charge. She gave me the correct WiFi password ... she knew it was written wrong in the room, but didn't seem to care and made no effort to correct the wrong information! Note: In about 15 or 20 minutes, you can walk to the main street where there are many restaurants, 7 Eleven, Tesco mart, taxi stand, and every sort of thing and service you may need. There are also a few hotels in the three or four block area that surely are not much more expensive than this dump but cannot be worse. Room Tip: There are no "good" rooms. I wouldn't let my dog stay at this place."
