Miss Thailand attracts airport attention with 17 suitcases

Thailand’s representative to the upcoming Miss Universe pageant, Chalita Suansane, caught the attention of Filipino netizens after her picture displaying her 17 hefty suitcases stormed social media.

It all started when Facebook user Hernz Panes posted a photo of the Thai model-beauty queen’s send-off before she flew via Thai Airways on Tuesday. “Miss Thailand off to [the] Philippines with her 17 luggages for Miss Universe! ‘Di masyadong handa si Mayora (The Mayor is not that prepared),” he hilariously said.

His photo made waves online with thousands of likes and shares.

As a result, netizens couldn’t help but guess what were inside her jumbo baggage. Some also praised her for her preparedness for the upcoming pageant and pre-pageant activities.

Prior to her arrival in the Philippine capital, Chalita, 22, also posted a snap of her 11 tightly packed trunks on her Instagram page.

Not only did her suitcases cause social media buzz; her stylish and classy Barong Tagalog outfit, paired with white bell pants and black leather belt, scored a thumbs-up from many Filipinos.

“Safe and sound. Sawasdee ka and Mabuhay,” Chalita captioned her photo.

Chalita, together with more than 160 candidates, including the Philippines’ very own Maxine Medina, will face off for the 65th Miss Universe pageant on Jan. 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. 2015 Miss Universe and Filipina beauty queen Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will pass on the crown and legacy to her successor.
