Janardhana Reddy and his brothers G. Karunakara Reddy and G. Somashekara Reddy were born into the Telugu speaking family of police constable Chenga Reddy,in Chittoor district Andhra Pradesh and grown up in Bellary. He and his brothers transformed themselves in less than a decade from industrialists into political bosses who dominated local government in the Bellary district, which holds the state's richest iron ore deposits.[1]
Janardhana never had a college education. He came into the limelight during the Lok Sabha elections in 1999, when the Reddy brothers worked in the campaign for Sushma Swaraj after she stood as a long-shot candidate in Bellary, against Sonia Gandhi. Though Swaraj lost, she remained a patron of the Reddys, and was known to visit Bellary frequently. However, after the mining scandal broke out and the Reddy brothers were indicted, chargesheeted and sent to judicial custody, Swaraj distanced herself from them, and all three Reddy brothers were expelled from the BJP's state government in Karnataka as well as from the party itself.[3]
Business history, growth of influence and wealth[edit]
In 1998, Janardhana Reddy's finance company, Ennoble India Savings, collapsed, leaving unpaid debts of over Rs. 200 crores.[4][5] However, by 2008, he and his wife declared assets of Rs. 1.20 billion.[6][6] The Reddy brothers obtained their first lease for an iron mine in 2004 when the Indian National Congress party led the government in Karnataka state. Since then, their rise has been meteoric, driven by soaring commodity prices, primarily due to demand for iron ore from China.[1]
Why the surprise, the whole Indian system is based on looking down your fucking nose at those who are worse off.
Friends of mine who fly for Gulf carriers will always tell you the worst, whiny, needy, up-their-own-arse passengers are Indians, specifically Indians, with British passports.
And do you remember the story of the trillionaire who built some huge multi story private residence in the middle of a slum?
Someone please give me the link.
It was/is disgraceful.
Do you mean this one?

Indian billionaire builds 568 foot skyscraper as private residence.
Why one family would need a residence this big boggles the mind. But when you have 2 billion dollars in the bank, creative spending is needed. To build something like this in a city that has hundreds of thousands of homeless people doesn’t seem appropriate. The building has approximately the same floor space as the Richardson Building in Winnipeg. Imagine having the Richardson Building as your private residence.
Antilia is the name of a twenty-seven floor personal home in South Mumbai belonging to India’s richest man, businessman Mukesh Ambani, the billionaire Chairman of Reliance Industries. There will be 600 full-time staff to maintain the residence, which is considered the most expensive home in the world with a price over US$ 1 billion dollars. Its also been described as the “Taj Mahal of 21st century India”.
The home will house Ambani, wife Nita, their three children and Ambani’s mother.

An Indian woman told me recently that when she is invited into luxury homes in India, the house is clean and bright with bling, until you go to the toilet, they keep their toilets to still look as filthy as the ones in a poor home.
Yea thats horrible, it looks like a shipping container.
I wonder what his boat looks like.
It's obscenity taken to the highest mark.
These cnuts, they and there ilk should be destroyed.
It's beyond belief that they can get away with this in a country of starving millions.
Yet nothing stops them.
:sorry1:
But he gives work to 600 people to run the place.
I'd sack the architect. Looks like kids' building blocksQuote:
ea thats horrible, it looks like a shipping container.
^^^ Looks like something my kid makes with Lego.
Expecting taste, innate style, charm and good grace from mere wogs is perhaps somewhat unreasonable. There is a good reason why most ME states are a testament to ugliness, the gaudy and the absurd.
Money can't buy good taste or dignified behaviour.
Why does he need that hideous eyesore with 27 floors to house his fam and 600 servants lol? Money better spent improving the lives of the ultra poor in India, this flash of wealth is wayyy inappropriate in the environment, should turn it into something useful like a hospital or turn it into apartments for the poor.
Thbe air in Mumbai is crap. They might be in a high-rise, but they're still breathing the same air....albeit filtered somewhat.
