I can regularly go three weeks without a drop but for me its all or noting. If I put a drink to my lips that almost guarantees that I wont be sober for that night or maybe 24 hours and then another day or two of feeling abnormal. But thinking about it I only drank 5 big beers last night and am now drinking four to ease the crappyness feeling ( some speed got into the mix) Is a 9 or 12 beer binge once a month such a bad thing ???
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve

I don't think it is, if you're dry for the rest of the time. Self-denial is a terrible thing.

I didn't realise you were pissing blood & such, that calls for some drastic measures, but a binge just once a month (it's only 12 days out of 365) isn't going to kill anyone.

the blood pee was due to a dodgy urethra and the subsequent surgery. They tested my liver and kidney function at the same time and it was 100% perfect. From 14 to 22 i binged on speed or booze every weekend (without fail) ( and 22/23 went on a tuely chronic alcohol binge) Thailand has sobered me up but i have a really addictive personality; the doctor prescribed narcotics I have to take are something that make my life so much better also appeal to my reptile brain "hmmm this makes you feel warm and calm" addictive nature. And even after horrible experiences caused by my 22/23 years old booze binge i still like getting drunk once every few weeks.

Don't want to sound like a new-ager, but meditation worked for me. Must be a temple near you, Maddog. Takes real focus to learn, but wow, it's worth the effort.
    Hope you get better.

I've been thinking about kickin' the booze for a while now. But I got good news for you Mad Dog. The other day, watching some show on bbc:

"If you ever see someone trying to give up drinking for a month or so, just to prove they can, they're probably an alcoholic."
    ...
So I can't ever gonna give up, that way no-one will think I'm an alkie."

What do you want me to say?
You are the one trying to give up the Piss.

It's too much, but not really that much.
Get your head back together, It's where you're At, not where your at.
