    Which GPS would you buy?

I want to get one for her new car but it's got to be simple and very user friendly cos I'm technically challenged.

    Cheap is good too.

Well the phones OK but I can't seem to get it to understand me so I reckon anything to do with phones out.

I'd like something that sits on the dash board and talks.

    Garmin then In that case.

I bought my Ram products from them. They have a decent selection to suit all vehicles.

I bought one off 'AliExpress' from China. It included video player/radio etc. It was brilliant, easy to use as well as being cheap. Wish I'd kept it.
Now have the factory fitted one from Toyota and it's too complicated and I struggle with it.

Did you pay extra for that or did it come with the car?

    G o o g l e M a p s.

I drove around LA and Nevada in the summer and it was far more accurate and informative than the GPS in the car.

And bang up to date information on accidents, delays, etc.

It works in Thailand, because I follow my taxi drivers' routes on it, and it does the same thing.

My phone sits on the dashboard(mounting bracket) and talks. Don't use Apple. Google pulled the rug out from under them, now their GPS sucks.

Any of the newer Samsung phones are great. But if you really like an independent unit then the one thing I recommend is making sure it uses Google maps. Some of the others are shocking. They can be sub-par and companies often charge you for map updates, which is bullshit.

+ 1 for Google Maps ... works a treat in Thailand.

That said ... it's not what the OP wants.

But works a treat, speaks in English ... never a problem (so far).

Garmin are also the most expensive if that means anything. Also if ordered through Amazon, Ebay etc shipping and customs are not included in the price and I know from experience that on some items that can double the price.

I have ordered an XGODY 5" Car Truck GPS Navigation Navigator SAT NAV 8GB HD Display Free Map.

Hasnt arrived yet so cant comment on efficiency, price under 1500b with free shipping from Ebay

Mrs OPPO phone works well as GPS but sometimes loses signal particularly over 100kmh and in remote areas as it depends on phone signal.

Got my little Garmin in the states on sale for 59 bucks. Super little machine. But friends and my kids swear by google maps. I got the Garmin because I cant really use a smart phone at all. Its super user friendly. You would like it CJ.

I have a Garmi Nuvi. It's great and acts as a hands-free for my phone as well. I can also recommend Sygic software used on a tablet.

Message sent. No you understand mine mate.

Wife came home with a new microwave and the old one is gone. I can only program the time for how long. No longer can do shit for shinola with anything else as its all these little symbols that are hard to read even with my specs on.

Still have my good old fashioned oven though.

Well if a smart phone is too technical I personally don't think you should be in charge of driving a metal death robot weighing several tons. Get a bus pass...
