This really should be titled "Favorite Food". "Comfort Food", to me at least, always brings to mind fat housewives stuffing their faces while watching Oprah.
^ Sounds like a party right there...
Not in any particular order..
Anchovy, capers Pizza.
Pasta a la Earl, which is generally penne with tomato sauce and whatever is handy. Many variations to that, great camping food.
Lately I'm kinda hooked on fried chicken skins and wings from a sweet local Islam lady.
In the USA I succumb to the big hamburger often.
In France it is cheeses and craft sausages at local markets and a fresh baguette.
In Argentina it is parrilla, olives, and a local malbec.
In Peru, ceviche.
In Mexico, mole, menudo, cecina and huitlacoche. (Which is a black fungus grown on corn)
In Scotland the big breakfast with scottish black pudding. Big yumm!
In Switzerland, gruyère cheese, and a fondue.
In Kansas it is Joe's Kansas City bbq. Worth the visit to the USA all by itself! (I've had outstanding bbq many places, but Joe's in KC is standout)
In Alaska, moose burger and canned red salmon my buddy's wife makes.
Maryland, Chesapeake bay rockfish and softshell crap.
In Penang there is restaurant with the best chicken curry. (Forget the name)
In Bangkok the Issan street food is to die for, and the padthai from thip samai is to write home about.
I be really looking forward to visiting Parma, Italy and some eating. (Parma ham, parmesan cheese) oh yumm yumm!

Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich.
Went to Macro and bought thinly sliced steak in the meat section (frozen). Some Cheddar Cheese, Onions, Tomato, Mushrooms and the french bread.
Stir fried the steak slices, mushrooms, onions with oyster flavor sauce (it's good) and then laid two slices of cheddar on top. Covered until cheese melted. Browned half the french bread on both sides and laid everything into it. (do not slice all the way through). Salt and pepper....tomatoes and mayo.
Best Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich I ever had....outside Philadelphia.
MacDonalds can shove their burgers up their buns. It is garbage...compared to this treat.
One pack of Steak and a 3 pack of the french bread (frozen) makes four sandwiches (six inch). Average price each is less than 100 baht.

Chicken Stew and Dumplings with a decent red wine
Anything with beans as main ingredient. Dried beans of all sorts are some of the most beautiful and flexible foods in my pantry. Cooking bean dishes is slow but cook up a big batch and freeze for quick meal.
Chili beans, burrito, enchiladas, and inumerable types of soup. Salads as well.
Comfort food? When seeking solace in consumption, Jack Daniels tops the list.
A chocolate bar with icy cold milk always goes down well.
Fish'n'Chips if done well (The Fishmonger at the top of Parnell Rd used to be the very very best ever, Dickie. They got new owners and were then not so good.....but perhaps they've improved. I think the franchise is in Remmers, too, and I imagine they would keep up the standards)
Actually, you reminded me....as a comfort food, dahl is great. It's got a wholesomeness to it while being a vehicle for flavours: Shan Dahl Masala is one of the best. Ordinary toor dahl, pink lentils and yellow lentils, follow the instructions on the inside of the box....delicious. Just remember the masala has black salt, so don't go adding your own salt.
exactly - are you poofs missing your boyfriend ?Originally Posted by Davis Knowlton

I eat whatever I like, whenever I like, and when I place the food in my mouth I don't think, ye, this is comfort food.
Fake '99' at that...if I'm not mistake...
...Not the original chocolate flake but the imitation 'twirl'
Comfort food...
Steak and Ale pie with mashed potato & parsnip.
Any roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding, mashed potato & parsnip
Apple pie (must contain cloves) and custard.
You're probably right. I'm sure they make a slimmed down robust version just for ice cream cones. The original flake woul be a bit too big and ...err ... flakey.Originally Posted by Troy
