Thread: Getting Offended Online

Simply put: Are you easily offended or upset? Yay or Nay?

Nay from me: troll or flame away- it matters not one jot to be and I am all to happy to repay in kind. I guess some things are taboo

Hateful attacks on family and friends- some mild ribbing is fine in my mind, but outright bullying is not.

Exposing workplace or home addresses- not cool in anyway

As for content- nothing really offends me unless it is clearly illegal and depicts physical or deep emotional harm of another living thing.

The thing that motivates me to post more than I normally would is jerks/arseholes that you just KNOW think they have the better of you but in reality do not. The dickheads that brag about things that are most likely fantasy. It's a matter of principle to not let them get away with it.
Very difficult to spar (have banter) with cowards that nip and bite from afar, illogically and irrationally, but won't (can't) use intellect to actually "score points" (for wont of a better term).
I quite enjoy mental sparring. I respect the person who can hold his own in banter and knows when to concede a point and willingly does so. I despise the jerk who is so weak that he can not admit a single fault.
It's a reflection of real life: Jerks I'll dismiss with words (and a punch if needed). But clever chaps who like a challenge, I will debate until he wins or I do. It's fun to test your brain. It's no matter to me if our politics differ, our choice of women is different, or our taste in shirts is not the same. Male, female, gay whatever....I enjoy meeting people who are fair-minded and who can think.

Brings to mind Don Trump. He's a braggart, a liar, repetitious in his attacks against his foes (because he has little intelligent imagination), and is an all-round jerk. I would harass him forever. Jerk.

Take Lulu for example.
There's a few jerks on TD, but mostly harmless. A few low class insults, etc, and that's that. Forget them.
Lulu, however, started picking on me from when I first started posting. No reason for it, just old boy bullying the newbie. Sad jerk like fraternity hazers. It very soon became apparent that he's like a little boy getting joy from pulling wings off flies or teasing a puppy. Add to that his blatant narcissism and on top of that his inability to see his own faults, and he became THE jerk.

How many regular posters talk about themselves so much? And with such arrogant self-congratulatory puke? There's none to match him.
How many members brag every single day about the women they've knocked off? None but Lulu. Who needs to do that? I can only imagine it's a very sad and insecure person. There will be some real studs on TD, but none of them feel the need to boast. They are secure in their masculinity.
Gosh, he even has to brag how he "won easily" in a competition against a little girl!
Everything is all about how great he perceives himself to be. Pure jerk, by definition. His bullying, pure arshole by definition.
Sadly (for the human race) he has his admirers. But that will happen. Don Trump has admirers, as did village idiot Bush.

So that is why I will not relent. It's all a matter of principle.

He's going to love this post! He shouldn't, he should instead feel a bit embarrassed and contrite....but he won't, because he's too far up himself and incapable of contrition.

Fight usually implies physical confrontation. You can't get into an argument and come out with a black eye. If you do then your argument clearly led to a fight.

Don't know who or what the poster in question is and don't care. But, re your comments on language, look at Katie23's posts. Her native languages are Tagalog and Vietnamese, with English third, and her written English is far better than most posters.
