Which countries produce the best fruits.

Now I know it is all about climate and temperture but I have tasted fruit around the world and here is my list.

    1. Best oranges come from the Riverland area of South Australia.

    2. Best apples come from the Derwent region of Tasmania

    3. Best Mangos come from the lower west coast of India.

    4. Best Water Mellon comes from Taiwan.

    5. Best Pineapple comes from the southern territories of Thailand.

    6. Best durian and the Mong Thong product comes from south eastern Thailand and towards Cambodia.

    7. The best berries come from Germany.

    8. The best coconuts and particularly the water Nam Hom comes from the middle western region of Thailand and towards Burma.

    9. The best other natural product comes from Durban South Arican and known as Durban Poison.

    10. The best Chillis come from the southern west coast of America and Mexico and a few have written books about the medicinal power.

Please add your likes and dislikes and oh I forgot about Kiwi Fruit but have no idea where they come from.

You can also mention vegatables and personally I like Aussie Chokos including the leaves and pumpkin.

    Oh and strawberries.

Interesting mate as the Kiwis claim the sole rights to this fruit.

Absolutely fantastic fruit and apparently very good for you.

One fruit I forgot to mention is Mangostein and I believe it is only grown in Thailand.

No. The mangosteen grows in several Southeast Asian countries, and probably originates from Indonesia.

    Cheers mate for your input.

I have only ever eaten mangostein here and what a delicious fruit.

In fact I grew up eating mangos in Australia but am now told that the fruit was introduced from the Phillipines.

    Bloody expensive there now.

Never seen one in the markets there and maybe like in Oz they sell all the best fruit to North America and the Middle East with locals having to eat rough imports.

I would reason that the best tasting fruit comes from wherever is the best water supply. If it is irrigated through a supply that has been chlorinated/desalinated/contaminated then surely the quality of the fruit will suffer.

Speaking of potatoes the best I have ever had come off my grandparents farm in Northern New South Wales or from Ireland.

I have also tried the blood oranges from the markets in the middle east and around the mediteranian coast and was not impressed.

South Eastern Thailand kT and I have been told because of the slightly cooler temperature and the rainfall when compared to closer to Malaysia. My wife's best friend has a farm and she sells everything she grows. Once again Mong Thong or Golden Pillow durian.

Dragon fruit is also a fruit that comes from this region.

You think the farmers don't do the same in OZ and other places around the world.

Can you keep on topic or maybe you can start your own thread.

Strewth, I wish we could get a reliable source of spuds up here.
She's tried growing her own but it just doesn't work.
The local market has an occasional box of decent spuds, from China I think and Tesco has some bloody awful shite every now and then.
    Nothing reliable.

    Thank god for pasta.

I can remember eating mulberries that were growing wild, passionfruit and Monsertio Delciousio fruit that Luidi uses as an organic dildo.

Absolutely lovely fruit and which grew wild where I grew up.

Oh and the bananas from Southern Thailand are delicious. I think they call them Lady Fingers.
