    Crap Towns and Cities

What's the worst place you have ever lived? Grimsby for me; what an effing whole that place is. Full of chavs and wiggers. Oh, and it's a total poverty trap with very little in terms of jobs and good education prospects. The best thing about Grimsby is leaving.

Second place goes to the city of Norwich. Populated by inbreds and horsey types. Loud, obnoxious and proud. The chavs would be considered HiSo.

    Grimsby for me;
i once worked at grimsby hospital for a month, i was billeted in the doctors quarters, not far from the nurses residence. i hardly left the hospital during my month there. the nurses were most hospitable.

about the only thing i remember about grimsby is the wonderful victorian tower in the docks, built in an italianate style it housed a remarkable hydraulic system used to power machinery in the docks.

Los Angeles, CA. Hundreds of square miles of concrete and crappy buildings, bad air, horrible traffic, stupid cost of living, and zero nature. The beaches are its only saving grace.

I spent a week in Basingstoke one afternoon.

If god was going to give the world an enema, he'd stick the tube in Basingstoke.

Swindon! A few years ago I worked for some British Council summer school- not a bad gig over the summer but the location was a bit WTF! These kids are coming to England for a taste of English culture. Oxford and Cambridge would seem like obvious locations. Swindon, not so much. Kids hated the location- one Russian girl because there wasn't a Prada outlet lol. Guess they got to see the real England

Did the Samoan's like Americans Jeff? The reason I ask is because I served in a regiment that had a contingent of Fijians and they absolutely hated American people. Why, I never found out. Bad days when on maneuvers with Americans.

Doubtless there was no connection between this and the fact that they employed you.

Westhoughton on the outskirts of Bolton makes Beiruit look like Barbados.

    It is a fucking shithole.

I managed to take a snap of the wetherspoons as I rode through en route to John O' Groats last year...

When I first left home at 20 I moved a few miles up to St. Ann's Road. Equal distances to Green Lanes/Seven sisters. No wonder I drank every night without fail for the full 2 years. I'd just started playing at clubs 3-4 times a week so my life was mostly booze, smoke and not bathing very often. Not a shag once.

I remember taking a piss one morning and straining hard for the last few drops. I blacked out, fell backwards and slammed my head on the floor.
That was the highlight of a bleak stay. The house was owned by an old Irish lady who could have played my mother if I was Norman Bates.

6 months in Pattaya, back in 2004. Shagged a bird 20 mins after she pulled up next to me on her bike at a red light, and I smiled. She undressed and had a carpet of tattoos on her back and down one leg.
    Nuff said.

Any town in Canada that begins with a "Prince", "Port", or "Fort". With Prince George, BC being at the top of the shit pile.

2 years in King's Heath definitely steals this title.

    :shudder:

    That place is a tip.

Yes, it is but all the other awful places mentioned so far have been in bloody England ! I was just trying to save you the embarrassment of placing the horrid places in some sort of pecking order. They are all beastly.

I shall prove this is in my upcoming picture thread. Watch this space
