    Ziplining:

Tried ziplining for the first time yeterday...These runs are booked in advance with no refund and someone couldn't make it in the original foursome, so I got to go for free...I would not pay $115.00 for 6 runs...

It's the highest freestyle zipline in Canada at 381 feet above the canyon...This is BC (British Columbia), in a wee town called Peachland, nestled in the Okanagan Valley, aka God's Country...

Nothing to worry about compared to Thailand's shaky safety standards...

Very professional "tool box meeting" in a teepee with a total of 8 participants...Step into your harness, don your helmet, and it's time to fly...

Not much to it, but I dropped my bucket list in the middle of the highest run...

Does it still count?...Or even make a sound if nobody hears it?...

    Whoooooooshhhhh!...

Cool, any pics or was you to busy keeping your shit together?

Nearest i ever got to zip lining was as a 10 year old jumping out of the highest tree, using a chain slung over rope tied to a smaller tree base about 50 feet away at the base. That was free as well

Would not even consider it in Thailand...Our safety standards here are among the best in the world...The assistants were very good...

I was expecting a thrill, yes, but I really wanted to experience the "whole package"...They don't f-around...You shut up and listen and don't touch anything until you're told...And you wait on the ground before the platform until you are called...Only one at a time...Not one foot up the step before the person before you is "launched"...

Freestyle means you don't need to use your hands, so I let go and did the "Dead Bug" right off the bat, not knowing they had a name for it...Just let everything go and hang down with the harness holding you at the "middle," like the old "widow-maker" construction harnesses they used in the last generations when they were building bridges...They would cut a man in half when the slack came up, if he fell, such was the force when his "safety line" stopped him from falling...Utter madness...

Anyway, I felt like I was out in the ocean at Cha Am, spread-eagled in the surf staring straight up into an early morning sky...Only thing, I was hurtling along with the "electric" zing of the pulley on the cable singing in my ears, tripping on down the line...

You are correct, Neal...I read all the posted stuff beforehand, and, though they don't encourage it during the regular runs, they do advertise their private parties in the text...And they suggest you should put your name in if you have a great body...

My daughter has all the video stuff...Trouble is, they warn you not to carry stuff because if you drop it, it's gone for good...I haven't seen the video she took of me, yet, but I think it was the one where we went upside down...

You can slow down by doing the "Starfish," which is why this is posted on a Thai forum...Heh...Canonball for fast, Starfish for slow when you're "coming home" because they send out a "stopper line" to gently jolt you to a stop at the end of the run...

You guys know I've never posted a pic here, but these ones would've been worthwhile...Bit of history, too...One canyon was an old gold mining area and a few hardy souls occasionally still pan it today...

Forget ziplines, roller coasters, do this and you'll never waste your time on them again.

It's actually pretty shit. It's at the Rio. What's she doing with that fucking guido?

There's one that drops you off the Stratosphere too, but that's gay as well.

I reckon this bird pissed her pants.

^ considering she was so scared, she did well; brave in my eyes - to do something you're afraid of is tougher than the gung-ho bastards that aren't smart enough to be scared.

&, 'Arry, to say that the Voodoo Zipline is shit, implying it's not scary, it's total BS!

    Cycling should be banned!!!
