    Reality is kicking in

I've spent a few Bob making my wife and her bone idle family comfortably set up
My wife gushes that people who never said hello before court their friendship and ask if they would like to do whatever these loonatics do for friendship and at social gatherings
I have give my daughter a slap and kicked my wife's father up the arse for kicking my dog
On further inspection of the family pets it appears that the poor dogs don't know affection or love.
I am quite perturbed by this as I am an animal lover and take pride in my dogs or cat's. I am their provider and owner
They cannot see why I would take exception to giving my wife and kids the hairy side if my hand for being cruel to animals that have the unfortunate life of being my pet.
I have never seen this before with pets and for me it's a deal breaker
Are these fuckers my children included without love for a sub species.
You have to love your pet

Jim they don't become sentimental over their pet dogs, knowing that the dogs can be poisoned on any day.

Seeing the way Thai people treat their dogs is something an animal lover will never get used to. I have been here ten years and it still sickens me. You learn to try and block out what you see on the street. I have three dogs. A ten year old and two seven year olds. They live a very good life. They take good care of their family and in return they get love and affection like most dogs here would never know. My gate is never locked and there isn't a Thai man in this village stupid enough to ever step through that gate.

they are fucking Soi dogs, who cares

Thai will treat their dogs like royalty if they are expensive and nice,

only farangs seem to enjoy the company of ugly soi dogs,

could explain their taste for peasant bargirls,

Well, Philippines might be even worse, with near each house a guard dog caged in a half square meter cage, not seen many of those in Thailand.

How can he be a guard dog if caged ? He will bark is the answer...

Many leave the cage once every few month only, pitty.

I just had to attach my dog as he wanders on the street of the subdivision, i need to net the fence so he can roam in the lawn, run around in the property free again.

Quite incredible in what little spaces on the fence he escapes
Monday,Tuesday, then it goes WTF !

The International dog show comes to BKK every two years, I've attended two of them, the last maybe 6 weeks ago.

If ya want to see Thais loving on their dogs then attend one of these shows or gather in places where the Thais have a few brain cells. This lot love their dogs.

I suppose soi dogs are treated differently up country in some small back water piss ant Village where the average Thai is a fookin idiot.

Fuking dogs are smarter than some of those trash.

So you slap your Mrs and kids and kick your FAL and dote on your dogs and cats.

You have a cheek to talk about Thai's being stupid they apparently have more brains than you, get your priorities right.

you seem to be missin the point here. A simple demonstration of affection to your pets will be rewarded by boundless faith and loyalty. How many Thai families can you say that about?
No disrespect to your family intended Jim.

Jim's a nice enough bloke... but if there is such animosity caused by such a simple dispute surely it's time to say that it's just not working, how much of your own personality do you have to subdue just for for the sake of regular pussy and warm weather..?
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Jimmys OK in my Books as well. Normal guy just trying to make his way in this world.

But there are a few problems that I must say he has created himself.

The first one being building that house in some backwater shit house.

I mean it's not the best situation to work abroad and then comeback and be thrust into the melting pot of isolated Issan.
To many fookin village retards around, do ya head in after a while.

The next one is being so close to his wife's parents that he must see them everyday.

I'm not suggesting that all In-laws are farang wallet draining felchers but there seems to be numerous reports on the Net to say this is the case.
    I'll add more later.

^^I think those posts sum it up quite well.

Clearly the OPs expectations are WAY to high for where he lives.

Surely Jim will tell his family off once they put a canine on the bar-b.

Maybe they're smart enough not to do it while he's in town providing his ATM.

Jim's put up some great threads...sometimes I think it's for his enjoyment and pure laughs while passing time in beautiful Isaan, the heart of Thailand ;-)

    Drink more, think less.

    It's an unwritten rule.

The great and mysterious Slap did nine long years in the jungle, and when the great and mysterious Slap witnessed something that did his fucking bonce in, he'd head keenly to the nearest bottle shop and nip visciously at a bottle of ya-dong until a pleasant numbness enveloped his person.

    Find a coping strategy.

You may also find that weeklong masturbation marathons yield good results.

All good comments to be honest
These are dogs I have rescued but I have bought 2 dogs and they died or poisoned
There's enough dogs out there that need a little love
My wife and I have been together for over 8 years now and her family have never asked
But I am generous by nature
I have discussed the dog situation and it seems that they do not think of them as pets as we in the west do
I've told her no one is to kick my fuckin dog she says that's the only way to discipline a Thai dog
When I eventually get enough money to live in Thailand full time I will be buying 2 Staffies that I will nurture full time and they will live in the house
As for living in a backwater I have been here for 3 weeks
Spent 5 days in pattaya ,3 in kochang, 2 in bkk
Went home for a week ,then went for 2 days to the casino in savannaket
Back on my bike for a few rides
Currently in Roi et having a beer at Lorenzo by the lake
    Fuckin lovely
I don't get this snobbery for issaan
It's dirt cheep , I have loads of Thai mates ,my house is situated with 360 degree unmolested views , I have 5 motorcycles ,2 cars and a plane to bkk goes 2 times a day for about £25
People think that it's a cess pool and without merit
    I wouldn't live anywhere else
The problem is they kick dogs that's not a problem don't kick my fuckin dog
The reason why I cuffed the kid and booted the FAL up the arse is my house my fuckin rules
The FAL doesn't live with us they have a small newly built house in the village
The only problem is I have to go home tomorrow

Ironic innit. The ones with a little more brain cells molly coddle their hounds, but look down and treat like shit anyone who they think is below them on the social scale!
