The victims, aged 15, 16 and 18, were playing the popular mobile phone game in Whittington Park in Holloway on Tuesday night when three male teenagers approached them.
One of the alleged robbers, believed to be a 16 to 17-year-old referred to as Kushi, pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the victims while an accomplice demanded they hand over their devices. The victims gave up their smartphones and left the scene shocked but unscathed, police said.

Pokemon Go makers face trespassing lawsuit
A lawsuit has been filed against the makers of Pokemon Go over players trespassing on private property.
A man in the US said strangers started lingering outside of his home with at least five people knocking on his door.
The first suit against game makers Niantic, Nintendo, and The Pokemon Company seeks class action status for others who have had Pokemon stops and gyms placed on their property.
Released on 6 July, the smartphone game has become a global phenomenon.
The lawsuit accuses the defendants of having "shown a flagrant disregard for the foreseeable consequences of populating the real world with virtual Pokemon without seeking the permission of property owners."

Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game on smartphones which has millions of people worldwide obsessively capturing small creatures in public spaces.
Sensitivity and safety concerns
It works by showing you a picture of your real surroundings as caught by the phone's camera, then superimposes virtual characters with players catching monsters in physical places designated "Pokestops" and training them in "gyms".
Unlike most smartphone games, it requires players to walk around in their hunt, leading to official requests around the world for people to be kept away from locations for safety or sensitivity reasons.
A number of locations, such as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in Japan have asked to be removed from Pokemon Go.
The US Holocaust Memorial Museum has asked people not to play Pokemon Go on their phones during their visit.
The former concentration camp of Auschwitz, where millions of people were murdered by the Nazis, has also banned the game.

Rio 2016: Kohei Uchimura gets $5,000 Pokemon Go bill
Olympic gymnast Kohei Uchimura racked up a Ł3,700 mobile phone bill playing Pokemon Go in Rio.
The 27-year-old Japanese, who won all-around gold at London 2012, incurred data roaming charges playing the augmented reality game after arriving in Brazil for this month's Games.
After receiving the bill, Uchimura "looked dead at the team meal that day", team-mate Kenzo Shirai said.
However, his phone company has agreed to let him pay a daily flat rate.
It means Uchimura, who is favourite to retain his title, will be charged 3000 yen (Ł22) per day for mobile use abroad instead of the 500,000 yen (Ł3,700) he thought he would have to pay.
"I really lucked out," the six-time all-around world champion told Japan's Kyodo news agency.
Pokemon Go has become a global phenomenon since its launch last month.

Pokemon Go banned by Iranian authorities over 'security'
Authorities in Iran have banned the Pokemon Go app because of unspecified "security concerns".
The decision was taken by the High Council of Virtual Spaces, the official body overseeing online activity.
Iran follows a number of other countries in expressing its worries over security related to the game.
But it becomes the first country to issue a ban of Pokemon Go, that challenges players to visit real-world locations to catch cartoon monsters.
Despite restrictions on internet usage Iranians on social media have discussed playing Pokemon Go in recent weeks.
Reports last month said Iranian authorities were waiting to see to what extent the game's creators would co-operate with them before making a decision on banning it.

Saudi cleric issues Pokemon Go fatwa
Indonesia has banned police officers from playing the game while on duty, and a French player was arrested last month after straying on to a military base while trying to catch Pokemon.
A leading Saudi cleric said a fatwa (religious ruling) issued against an earlier Pokemon card game also applied to the new mixed-reality app.
The 16-year-old edict said the game contained "forbidden images" and violated an Islamic ban on gambling. But a fatwa's influence might not carry beyond that particular scholar's territory, and is not necessarily applicable to the whole country.
Earlier this week, authorities in New York state said they would ban some 3,000 registered sex offenders from playing Pokemon Go while they are on parole.
The ban is aimed at safeguarding the children who play the game.

Psychiatrist warns players of Pokemon Go addiction as game finally launches in Thailand
SPEAKING on the first day of the official launch of “Pokemon Go” in Thailand, a psychiatrist yesterday warned players using smartphones to beware of getting addicted and urged the authorities to regulate the game.
As Niantic, the developer of the world famous Pokemon Go announced the official launch of the game in 15 countries in Asia, including Thailand, gamers in Thailand cheerfully welcomed their chance to start playing the game and many people posted their experience on social media.
However, Dr Yongyuth Wongpiromsan, Public Health Ministry spokesman and psychiatrist, raised concerns that the players may become addicted to the game and cause problems for themselves and those nearby |even though the game encouraged the players to go outside and exercise.
"I see Pokemon Go has some advantages because it provides a new gaming style to let the gamers walk around and do some exercise, not just sit and play like the other games," Yongyuth statedon his Facebook.
"Nevertheless, this game will be the same as other games, if the players spend longer than one hour. They will become addicted to the game and this will negatively affect the players themselves and the people around them."

One colleague showed me on his phone yesterday that there was a mouse-like pokemon in our office. Its location was a few meters beside my desk! He was the one who explained the details of the game to me, as he's a pokemon enthusiast - has been since it came out as a game. I thought that Pokemon started as a cartoon series. Turns out that it was a game (gameboy?)before it became a cartoon. I watched some episodes w/ my nephew, so I know abt Pikachu.
When Pokemon cartoon was first shown in the Phils, there was a lot of ribbing abt the name. Poke sounds a bit like "puke" (poo-keh, 2 syllables), which means the vaj of a woman, while "mo" means "your" (possessive, 2nd person). So "pokemon" sounds a bit like "your vaj". Lol
For that matter, ppl here also laugh when they hear abt Phuket for the first time. But come to think of it, Phuket has a lot of p***y, right?
So, will the Pokemon enthusiasts be hunting for "pokemon" in PI? Lol
Wanted Man Caught While Playing Pokemon Go Outside Police Station
A Pokemon Go player who was trying to catch ‘em all ended up getting caught by police.
William Wilcox was arrested Thursday morning for an outstanding arrest warrant after police in Milford, Michigan, saw him playing Pokemon Go outside of the station, which is also a Pokemon gym.
“He made our job much easier for us that day,” Milford Police Chief Thomas Lindberg told Fox2Detroit.com.
Officers said the 24-year-old Wilcox was in pajama pants standing near a flagpole when they recognized him thanks to a rap sheet that includes a 2014 conviction for receiving stolen property, according to The Smoking Gun.
Officials checked records and discovered Wilcox was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant for a failure to appear on a breaking and entering charge.
Wilcox was taken into custody without incident right when he was trying to catch the character at the flagpole.
“He either forgot that he had a warrant out for his arrest or was just ignoring it thinking nothing will happen,” Lindburg told WXYZ TV. “I think he was more upset that he had to stop playing the game.”
Wilcox was released on his own recognizance and is probably playing Pokemon Go until his next court date later this month.

Phnom Penh: Pokemon at S-21 not appropriate, some say
10 Aug, 2016 Andrew Nachemson
As darkness fell last night outside the walls of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, the former Khmer Rouge torture facility from which an estimated 14,000 Cambodians were sent to their deaths, the Pokemon Go players were still going at it.
US-based software developer Niantic on Saturday launched the augmented reality mobile phone application in the Kingdom, which allows players to visit physical locations in a bid to capture Pokemon characters that are visible on their smartphones.
As of yesterday, the former S-21 security centre is one of those locations, playing host to two Pokemon “gyms”, four “Pokestops” – one based squarely at the Tomb of Victims of Torture Memorial – and countless wild Pokemon.
And while the company, amid public outcry, has begun eliminating Pokemon Go features from sensitive locations including the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Memorial in Japan and the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC, no such provision has yet been made for the former Khmer Rouge facility.
