I’m Ok to drive” says Thai bus driver as he collapses on sobriety test

A Thai bus driver who flattened several signposts asked police to do a sobriety test to prove that he was not drunk and capable of driving.

OK to driveAs Khwanchai Maturot attempted to walk in a straight line he fell over and officers had to virtually carry him to the station where they found an alcohol level of 283 miligrams, reported Thairath.

Khwanchai did mention that after delivering factory workers he had indulged in two bottles of Lao Khao spirits and was on his way to see his girlfriend

He had earlier demolished several signposts on the Ang Thong bypass. A well known DJ from the local radio station called Chokchai Thongsak, 53,saw what happened and realized his Centre Radio sign was one of those knocked down. So he went to the bus that had stopped and asked the driver to come down and discuss restitution for the sign.

Khwanchai, a native of Ayuthaya, refused to come down and so police were called. The driver told officers he was perfectly capable of driving even though he was slurring his words. He managed to convince officers that a sobriety test was worthwhile but as he attempted to walk in a straight line he collapsed in a heap and was carted off to the station.

He could lose his job. If I were him I would forward the following extenuating argument. The coach isn't tag steer so a little more difficult to steer around signs.

They all look to be having a jolly time carting inebriated slugwit Somchai off to the cop shop.
Fortunately, he'd only managed to destroy a few signposts. Normally it's other people's lives. *chortle*

They'll sneak him onto another bus when the cameras stop rolling, relatively speaking, he's well fit to do the job

I never drink Chang beer even though it is the best tasting of all the Thai beers (that's not saying much, Thai beer is crap)
Long story short, mate in CM, Thai sister-in-law married to a Swiss brewer, Swiss guy came to LOS and tasted Chang and thought it tasted funny. Went back to work and had a look on the data base, said they are using chemicals in Chang that were banned in Europe 25 years ago. He said not to drink it as the chemical build up in your body can cause problems later. He was not least surprised to hear it gives some people severe hangovers.

I believe the secret chemical is lao khao [Chang domestic] and most understand this by now.....and knowing why it's so lethally wretched.

Try Chang Export - if you can find it locally. Nothing resembling it's evil domestic twin.

....and I've heard the new generation of "Chang Classic" [whatever that is] is quite unlike it's everyday domestic brother.

I don't drink Chang any more, as you never know what your getting from one bottle to the next.

Ya gotta laugh that the cop arresting the pissed up bus driving somchai finds it amusing enough to be sporting a shit eater grin, shows how seriously they take this shit, if un apprehended and allowed to go on his merry way we would be reading about his bus driving over a cliff or in a head on with another pissed up somchai bus driver. Land of smiles eh? They really don't give a fuck eh?
