4.5 hours flight from Dubai to Colombo, £350 return. No hassle, relaxing.. less stress.

Flights are booked for next week. Will hire a car and hit the road for the good weather, beaches, temples and curry in the East and North away from the monsoon on the Western side.

Although.. I'm thinking the plane will be landing on the West side, in a monsoon.. could be a bit of a clencher. I'm sure I can manage a travel thread with more than a few photos of beer bottles and a some mangy birds on a beach.. eh Betty.!

Any advice and tips of things to do and see much appreciated.. a little nightlife wouldn't go amiss.

Sorry Dill and LT, will have to take a rain check on the beers in Bangers, it's the thought of a 9 hour flight back with a raging hangover and a sore arse that put me off at the last minute, funny how that never used to bother me.. showing my age now huh
