Sincere apologies for the misleading thread title....it's not "flooded" it's actually just "water waiting to be drained"....

The governor gave an overview his Facebook page (Sukhumbhand.P), most of which had been previously published by other agencies. He refuses to use the word "flood", insisting it is "water waiting to be drained".

Our soi has "water waiting to be drained" after heavy rain but it never "flooded" in 2011 (or was it...)
A minor inconvenience that lasts about 20 mins after the rain stops. Mostly caused by detritus in the drain openings.

Funny, but the same phenomena appears in Pattaya where after one hour of heavy rain water collects patiently awaiting drainage.

^ Seems to be your favorite place in the World to be, given how much you go on about there.

Perhaps buy a canoe to get about.

Being 1.5 meters above sea level does make for a fair bit of flooding. Good news with the current avg rise in sea level is Bangkok will be underwater in the not too distant future.

It nailed me. Vipawidee Rangsit highway was not flooded and dry when I left my house at 6:30 am, I wanted to get to Kasetsart early. Its about 15 kilometers from my house. I arrived at 9:40, the worst traffic I have ever experienced here. Coming home took 19 minutes. Fcuk.

    I could have walked faster.

If only the halfwits their could keep the drains cleaned there would be far fewer problems, they are full of rubbish and never cleaned.

You live in a place you're ashamed of giving a name to that anyone who doesn't know the sleazy receptacle of excreta called Pattaya would recognise.

    And someone else is 'cuntstruck'?

At least luigi seems still capable of appreciating all the locale has to offer, you shrivelled bore.

Mykthemin is right, would stop a lot of localised flooding if the brain dead locals stopped
tossing out garbage, bloody plastic bags blocking the grates.
Last time i was in Siam Riep,ok, different place but same problem, pissed down for a bit then streets ankle deep in water, looked at the grates, jammed with plastic and general junk.
Locals put up with it instead of cleaning grates/pipes and not littering.
