How do you track threads you like?

My default is set to 'new post' so when I click onto TD that's what I see...

but sometimes I want to find a thread - like today I'm trying to find BH's thread about his reemergence into society - and I'm foked if I know where to start...

fortunately Marmers is 'ok pathet' otherwise he'll be telling me to use the search function...never liked that and it never works for me...

so what do the rest of you do to follow threads which are interesting to you?

I rarely log off for long enough to lose track.

If I do, i use the search function.

You can "subscribe" to the thread, in the tool bar above.
    Never done this, though.

I often 'loose' threads as well.
If you remember the thread-starter, you can search for their threads in their member's page, done that before.

I don't like the search function, it doesn't often find what I'm looking for.

I log on and hit new posts.
If I have a special interest in one thread then I save it as a 'favourite' so that I can find it easily

You can also click on the RSS feed on any forum, its the orange funny thing in the URL window, tells you when there are new posts etc.

    I read every thread.

If I need to find a specific thread I usually struggle with the search function for 20mins before giving up.

I'm happy to hear that cause I thought I was the only one who couldn't extract any info from the search function...

For me the search function works best if I limit it to thread titles. If I have a specific thread I want to find I can usually remember at least one word in the title and I search for that.

But, it doesn't work for short titles as I think it ignores very common words and very short words. For example, William had an interesting thread called "Where Is" (inquiring about absent members) but if you search for "where is" you get:

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : where, is
So, with apologies to William, I started a similar thread called "Whatever Happened To...."

I can easily find it by searching on "happened" in thread titles only.

search for william's threads with at least 3 replies.

there's only ever been 2 of them.

Took less than a minute to find this one.

    https://teakdoor.com/the-captains-lou...-where-is.html

    find threads by ..william.
show threads with at least 10 posts.

There were more than I expected but still on the first page.

Just ask me next time you are having trouble Klongy.
seems I'm the only poster with the nous to do a search properly.

In most cases I don't remember who started a thread, though.
