I saw a Frank Spencer episode recently.... very dated, but Dad's Army still has something to offer.....

Yes, one of the great moments....along with Del Boy falling through the open bar cover.... or my personal favourite... the chandelier...

I have every episode of all of these and the others I mentioned.....

That was funny (in small doses) Del boy (only fools and horses) was funny..

I grew up with my Grand parents, my granddad especially (being a proud Londoner) had a heavy influence on me. They were always watching pommy comedy, Dad's Army, one foot in the grave, father Ted, Blackadder, open all hours, 'Alo 'Alo, Last of the summer wine, etc..

My favorites were:- The young ones (RIP Rick) Red dwarf, the office, Blackadder, Fawlty towers, absolutely fabulous... and that one when Rick Mayal was an MP... Alan Bastard... fooking hilarious!

I have a lot of respect for him. Back in the day, I bought my mother and sister tickets to Phantom for Xmas (months in advance and a matinee, but right under the Chandelier which drops down), and she was panicking away about how he would be too tired to do all those shows in a week, bless her.

So my sister wrote to him at the theatre. She got back a signed photo and a handwritten letter to my old dear from him saying that they'd have to break both of his legs to stop him performing on that day.

She had that letter and photo mounted front and centre in the living room until her dying day.

indeed, when i first listened to crawfords phantom i thought this surly cannot be the same man with that winey ooh betty voice.

Last of the summer wine must have been one of the longest running comedy shows, with 32 seasons spanning 37 years.
Can anyone think of anything longer?

No but it went on for far too long, awful in the end.
