I think it still has a way to go , and step by step it is becoming more irrelevent

a few announcements this month by solid project development teams , some imaginative innovation and a lot of the new money will become aware of other crypto currencies , chains and uses

there is a lot of excitement and FOMO still to happen yet , but bitcoin will not be the headline of the ball

^Dismiss charts at your peril, personally I don't rely on them but do take note of them for the simple reason a lot of algos will automatically trigger buys and sells at certain points plus plenty of day traders will basically solely use charts for their entry and exit points. I'm of course referring to stocks and shares but presume the same principles will apply for cryptos. Obviously news unexpected or expected can blow charts out the water but for people who have the balls to post their trades in real time as opposed to hindsight traders you'd be surprised how often the chart traders are right and make coin.

    and yes

but this market is still well into its infancy andmany of the traders are unaware of the real technical news which is relevent to the good blockchains and coins

right now there is a large ongoing war of words between the bitcoin core people and the bitcoin cash people

the fallout will be the exposure of the issuse with the bitcoin proof of work philosophy that is used by both chains - the chartists can not predict these things as they are only following

there has been some good discussion on the fundamentals (strengths and weaknesses/ news) of the various cryptos and that's interesting and good to know.

on the other side of the coin is the technicals (charts).

don't worry: technical traders don't care whether bitcoin goes to 20,000 or $5.

and, of course: they are trading all the cryptos (not just btc).

yep, that's the reason yesterday morning i decided to show an example of one of my trades (show how to trade using the charts).

sure, i understand most won't want to be doing day trading, looking at charts.

but, it is how many trade cyptos. if everyone was just holding, then there wouldn't be much price movement on the downside, of course.

anyways: luigi has posted his entry and exit points for medium term trades (300,000, 400,000, etc.).

besides luigi nobody is posting when they're entering or exiting btc (or any crypto).

just see some "yippee" sounds when a "nano" or something goes up

and a "there goes the lambo" when it goes down.

of course, if you're enjoying the hodl ride, fair enough:

Technical analysis is pretty damn interesting, if a bit overwhelming when starting out.

Very well played FRT, cheers for the info and example.

I gambled a few thousand $ on Ethernet, Ripple, Dash, Zcoin, and for a laugh Pandacoin and Kryptonite.

Current value is about 50% of my initial investment, which isn't so good....

I'll see how it goes long-term (1 year+). But as mentioned before, when I look at the daily and weekly ups and downs, I figure that if I had the time, I'd probably make some money out of day-trading/rweekly trading.

It's too late to hold this long term. These coins went up way too fast.

The only way is to daytrade the shit out of them, unfortunately if you don't have the guts (like myself) to trade big amounts, then it's a waste of time. You just spend days looking at the screen hoping to press that sell button. I have better ways to make money in front of the computer without much risk.

Apologies... I promise I won't mention nano again until I get the lambo...

So when you exit/ liquidate a position - I think you said you were trading on binance - do you transfer it out of binance to a thai bank account?

I read that binance fees are expensive. And you have to pay on the way in and on the way out?

the only thing binance charges you for is the trading fees which are very low. You can sign up, deposit your crypto and start trading, without even giving your name and info.

the fees for moving crypto go to the miners.

If interested, read up on which cryptos are the cheapest to transfer.

fees for exchanging to fiat depend on the exchange you are using for that.

yeah - I use binance to trade but haven't transferred out (well only NEO - which has nil fee) - and I hold a tiny bit of their coin for very low trade fees.

but in relation to the trade you did - you bought btc and then sold btc - what with?

(I'm a bit confused - you hold everything on binance in tether?)

gotcha - didn't realise the USDT - pretty straight-forward and low cost then.

(not worried about leaving it on an exchange?)

already took out my initial investment and IMO binance isn't going anywhere.

keep it all in to throw at the next trade.

Well I finally got my BCH which was owed me.
I figured I'd never get it. I had about 3.5 BTC before the fork. I had to use my laptop and private keys to log into the wallet on they where they were before the fork. That wallet just recently started doing the coin split. So even though I'd moved the coin long ago onto a hardwallet the transactions records were still there.
Pretty much paid for my miners. Though it's possible BCH will go back up to $3000. $3000x3.5 add up to a nice little chunk of change.
Even at todays price it's nothing to sniff your nose at.
I see it as a creepy scam coin, but it won't hurt to hang on to it for bit. Or many buy more miners if that seems right. Bitmain only accepts BCH for the miners.
