should I remind you that you work with pipes for a living ?

anyway, some BitCoin ETF that was going to launch has been "suspended" by the SEC (or CFTC can't remember) for lack of "proper" financial underlying instrument

I think the biggest threats to blockchain is going to be simpler tech developed by Apple and Google to make micro-payments and micro-transfer extremely efficient and cheap

you don't really need blockchain tech to operate a secure and inexpensive transfer system, that was the original idea behind Paypal when it was created

Not the first Bitcoin ETF to get denied by the SEC. The underlying issues of transparency and KYC still exist. Bitcoin will never get SEC approval until they address those issues.

That is Ripple's (XRP) MO. Ledgerchain rather than blockchain. Cross border money transfers for fractions of a cent. There's serious potential for online companies like AirBNB and Uber to use this to distribute payments worldwide quickly for almost cost.

as you also do not know that both apple and google have tried to roll out both apple pay and google wallet - neither has gained much traction

actually that ETF was pre-approved, but eventually got denied access to Commodities Exchange by CFTC, will need to dig up that news again somewhere

nothing to do with KYC though, as ETF are listed and market participants clearly identified

absolutely, like eBay did with PayPal

we need to have some kind of easy "funding" and "transfer" procedure that is just too great to ignore, like PayPal was once

I bought Omise Go just as I liked the name, at 20 baht in July - went up to over 300. That and KNC are going to soar. Bitcoin is too risky.

first time I have heard of it - it is an ICO built on ECR20 - using the eth chain - decentralised crypto swaps -

it will be superceded by lightning network implementation

Kyber Network is a Singapore based decentralized and trustless exchange that facilitates instant conversion of crypto-assets with guaranteed liquidity. The Kyber Network protocol will be key to promote liquidity of crypto-assets in the blockchain ecosystem, and improve the perception of tokens as a tradable asset class to the greater public.
it has just been introduced - september - run from singapore and seems to be aimed at mainland chinese - just being listed on binance , where you pay 100K USD to be listed , which will cause a bump up in price - looks like a pump and dump

An interesting development, you can get cash loans using your blockchain assets as collateral.

    I won't,
Was a great investment for those that got in early, could easily end up at 10,000 or a bunch of zeros less.

need more proof than a fluffy article - singapore is trying to become an ICO haven - though as I have said before , I think most ICO's are dodgy scams pasted on top of ECR20

A dark horse crypto that is worth looking at https://iota.org/

Not based on the blockchain, but an entirely new concept called 'the tangle'. I am still working through the white paper, but in summary: its infinitely scalable, the more people that use it the faster it gets, there are no miners or mining fees, as to conduct a transaction you need to verify 2 other randomly chosen transactions.

Currently very much in the early stages of development and use, and only available on bitfinex, but have a look if you haven't heard of it yet.

Also I will convert 60% of my BAT to CAT, still a token realted online activity, but I have been using the Brave browser for and its pretty clunky and doesn't work as well I had hoped. More on CAT here: https://www.bitclave.com/en/

    Problems with Ethereum.

"In a vivid reminder of the risks involved for cryptocurrency investors, Ethereum slumped on Tuesday when a critical security vulnerability in multi-signature wallet belonging to London startup, Parity Technologies, was triggered on 6th November, paralyzing wallets created after July 19, and freezing tens of millions in ethereum. Parity is the same company whose coding error helped hackers steal $30 million worth of ethereum; on Tuesday, the company admitted it was facing more security problems.

Parity issued a "critical" security alert to inform its users about a bug that got "accidentally" triggered which resulted in freezing more than $280 million worth of ETH, including $90M belonging to Parity’s Founder & Ethereum former core developer, Gavin Woods. In the statement, Parity said that it had fixed the vulnerability that led to the original, July hack, but failed to catch and repair another weakness that allows users to rewrite code and take ownership of wallets that don’t belong to them. As a result, Bloomberg notes that many users found themselves unable to move funds out of their wall
ets because important code was deleted."

Lots of technical info for those that know what it means.

Apprently as as all code is "open source" any "deveoper" can insert new code and in this case "block access". One wonders if they can also write code, with of course "Russian or DPRK or Chinese fingerprints", reasign the coins elsewhere during the delayed access.

Are these "developers" required to have any financial insurance to fund such theft?

Couple of mates were celebrating a casino tickle 4-5 years back, about 500 each, got high and one suggested rather than end up giving it all back to the casino they invest some of their winnings in a bunch of btc; one bought 30 the other 32 at something ridiculous like a tenner.

As of last week they've agreed to sell at $10k or $5k, whichever arrives first, but I shall ask them to contact you for further advice.
