I don't, it just doesn't seem to agree and I find it rather disappointing when compared to other Asian foods such as Vietnamese and Japanese. Thai food is so oily I fear that America may invade the plate sometimes!

Other cuisines are available. It's not like it's a third world country is it.
True, I mostly cook pasta and salads at home these days. Oh, and a weekly trip to a Brit pub for a taste of home.
Some but I don't do chili, so choice is sometimes a bit limited.
What's your favourite?

in the 10 years I have lived here I doubt I would have eaten Thai food more than a dozen times.
Are you kidding? I fooking love Thai food.. I'll say negative shit against Thais (if they deserve it) but you won't catch me dissing Thai food...
Love it, long time.. yumm... not saying it's the best cuisine in the world... nay... but it's up there... better than Kiwi slop anyday... baked beans on toast (vomit)..
Where's Terry at? I bet ya even he (a true blue aussie) will love Thai food... if he doesn't I will piss in his beer lao.
Big kudos to Dick for his first non gay post.
I love Thai food as well.
Ps my wife made me say that!
Aside from the Thai being addicted to MSG, the food is pretty good.
I've never encountered an oily somtam, and gai yang isn't oily, nor is sticky rice.
I lean away from much of the stir fried rice and noodle dishes they serve farang.
Things like the chicken foot noodle soup and grilled pork entrails are great local treats.
I will pass on the oily essarn bugs though.
Thing to know about the oil they use is palm oil which is better for you than the oils used in the west, it isn't the healthiest, but fat from being the worst.

55 holy shit!... nearly fell off me chair... Thanks Iceman!! I've broken my man-cherry.. finally Dick has been accepted as a fully fledged non-gay bloke on TD... Hallefookinlujah!
I think I'm gonna circumcise myself with a rusty razor, drink a bottle of single malt (NEAT) and listen to country music... hell, I might even have sex with my wife!
doggy style... yeee haaaaa!!!
*shit, I can't she's on her rag... red means stop like... eiei
I eat a mixture of Thai food and western, since I sell both in my restaurant, and when I come to Korea I mostly cook Thai food. Meat, veg, powder, tip it onto rice. Simple.
What, and you haven't even done anything wrong?Originally Posted by NZdick1983

For you guys that don't eat Thai food.. I bet you eat Thai pussy...
One thing I will say, when I was young, I loved super spicy (I mean even spicier than Thais) - now I'm oldish, I just like medium hot...
I find if my meal is ultra hot, I canny taste any of the other flavors...
Variety is the spice of life innit... Jap food, Italiano, Thai, ching ching.. all good ey?
bring it on!
Yeah I'll go snack the missus's snatch on the odd occasion but until the day comes when she lets me cut it outta her and slap it on the barby it is a bit of a stretch to consider it thai food.
But now that you bring that up it dawned on mw that a few of the Farang dishes I make are made from 100% Thai grown ingredients so by default they too should be considered "Thai Food"....
The Meth One's Fuck The Best !!
Can I say I am not partial to it then?
For me, I generally don't like the flavour profile - it is too "up front" - all in your face, little richness. Personal opinion of course.
However, my general dislike is compounded by the fact that so much of it is just simply awful in terms of quality of ingredients and cooking.
A plate of chicken fried rice (not "thai" I know, but as an example) should not consist of some rice mixed in with beak, snot, bone and a shred of skin half heartedly shoved around a wok.
I just find that the everyday quality of food is awful. It really is like they just simply don't care (customers and cooks).
Unfortunately for me I suppose my education in Asian food occurred largely in Singapore - where they really, really f*cking care about food, and the humblest of stalls can knock out something divine.

Sorry, my wife does not agree and on that basis I have to red you!
If I didn't enjoy any Thai food I wouldn't be here.
