What is your favorite breed of dog?

When I was growing up my first pet dogs were Golden Retrievers. Friendly, loyal, happy to see you when you got home with tail wagging, and always dropping a ball, rock, or bone in front of you, with the impish hope - and expectation - that you'd throw for them to fetch and retrieve.

My Golden Retrievers loved to drop a rock right in front of my lawn mower as I mowed the grass, knowing that I'd have to stop, and throw it.

I like a lot of breeds of dogs: Golden/Black labs, pugs, Brittanies, and more.

So, how about you? What kind of breed or breeds are your favorite?

Grew up with a springer spaniel called Bosun.

Like all sorts of dogs, apart from Alsation cos one took a chunk out of me when I was a baby.

I deserved it apparently as I tried to play with it when it was eating a bone.

Rottweilers are awesome. I had a male and a female back home.

The male got pancreatic cancer and the female died of old age.

I currently have Golden Retrievers but my heart loves Jack Russels but I couldn't find any at the time.

I grew up with an Airedale terrier. Really nice dogs.

I had Alsations, Bulldog, Labs, English Bull Terrior (my fav), Mongrols (the most loyal IMHO) and now have a Welsh Border Collie and a deaf Jack Russell.

My beautiful Staffy cross of 14 1/2 years died about a month ago and he was the best dog a man could wish for. Intelligent. loyal and independent.

Grew up with a mixed one. Very loyal she was. But she was frightened of firework and all that stuff. One Loy Krathong, couldn't handle all the noise, she ran away and never came back.

Quite a few years ago, I had a Golden Retriever. Very intelligent and pretty she was. I loved her like my own baby. But she got sick and we had to put her to sleep at the age of 11 months old. Never got another pet ever since.

Hana, left, is a six-year-old pound mutt from Okinawa Japan. I'm quiet and gentle, and love kids. I lived in California before moving to Thailand. I like long walks on the beach and sipping champagne from owner's cupped hand. Sniffs butts every now and then and have been known to roll in cow shit. Interested in a middle-aged pedigreed pooch who will sniff my butt and bite my dominant younger sister. Call me 0927-xx-xxxx.

Yako, right, a Golden (thought mostly white) born in Udon Thani two years ago. Very smart and while not very aggressive, I have a killer bark that sounds much meaner than I am. Love to swim in the river, bird-dog in the rice fields and fetch sticks. I prefer Tesco's premium and drink only water. I am neutered but have six children, all living on their own. For other peoples dogs nothing more friendly than a golden retriever, for myself though got to be German shepards or rottweillers.

I grew up with big dogs of the Lab variety, one Great Pyrenees. Now we've got this little guy, a Jack Russel named Jack, pictures a few months old, he's almost full grown now. Never seen so much intelligence in a dogs eyes, although he acts a bit dumb at times.

Smartest dog I ever had, 17 years, she used to sleep on my motorbike tank, ride shotgun in a helicopter, surf, duckdive, survived a car rollover, buffalo attack, swam crocodile infested waters.

I've always been partial to chows. Great family dogs, not real friendly with other folks though, fine by me.

Only problem in England they have become the quintessential Chav accessory to go with a snide burberry hat and a shit tattoo.
