    Non performing ‘loans’

    Non performing ‘loans’
Okay I have owned boats...the quintessential ‘holes in the water’ for mega bucks.
Over the last ten years must have loaned out ½ million baht plus to rellies. Wakes… cannot pay truck payments, sick rellies… yada yada. Never to be repaid methinks.
Not really complaining..I am a softie and do not resent a single baht…but they STILL think I am a BOTTOMLESS ATM…sorry guys time out, FINISHED, NO MORE! …my truck is 16 years old FFS!

And I'm sure it will last another 16 year easy.

My old Nissan work truck has well over 700k kms (the odo went wonky some time ago), runs perfect, normally aspirated diesel, gets 12kms to the liter. Uses no oil. Air blows cold, what more could you want? A little rusty but heck that just adds character.

    Right on Mr Earl...555

Before anyone shouts ‘dumb sucker Farang' in Thailand. I probably ‘donated’ $100k plus to ex’s family in Canada. Fool and his money I guess?

My surrogate biz family just deposited 600k baht, into my account, biz is somewhat good despite the china tourists.
But I ain't buying a new truck! Am building a nice little noodle shop in the village.

I try to follow the old saying; "only spend money to make money"

Of course they think that, if you don't miss or resent the money they haven't paid back.

So far, I have always got my money back when lending to rellies - I make them set a deadline for repayment and then keep reminding them of it.

I've been reminding one for 9 years, still waiting.

The good thing is they won't come near our home when I'm around now, I suppose its worth it.

Same goes for my lending to kin folk. No pay back on time, no loan in the future.

Of all the divorce stories I have heard its the guys in the states I know that truly got taken to the cleaners...all the Thailand stuff seems to be small money for the most part.

    THB 500,000 ÷ 10 YEARS = "AIN'T SHYTE"

Crepitas, count yourself lucky and start being a man. When you say NO MORE mean NO MORE.

Life will be better with a clean slate.

Palm prices are up, another 43k in 15 days. Labor costs for the month 22k. Fuel, food and maintenance around 10k.

You can't take any of it with you when you go away.

    Why not.
It's all false pretense anyway - loans, credit, wealth fallacy.
