    Draughtman's drawing board.

I am looking to purchase a drawing board, yes the old style contraptions engineers used to design most things before computers come along.

Before anyone calls me a hillbilly I do have programes such as Autocad and Solidworks but I like to design things size for size to get the correct feel for the product.

As many people work here there must be heaps of these redundent machines sitting in dust for sale and if someone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance.

Siam paragon in the art area of the actual paragon mall. Near the toy section.

    LT,

    Happy New Year.

There is a shop on Sukumvit here in BKK near Soi 44 that is an artists supply shop. I bought a small A2 desktop one which is Ok for basic stuff. It has a string powered horizontal slide but no vertical

I'll pop down and see if they have full-sized ones.
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
I apologize if any offence was caused. unless it was intended.

I have a drafting table I don’t use any longer. It’s beautiful although very heavy [has cabinets and drawers (keep your tools in)] but can be separated into two pieces (table top from the base) so you can get it in and out of the office (doorway). It’s not one of these simple flimsy sit in the corner of a room type of tables (two guys are needed to move it). You’ll need an entire office room to place this table in. When the table top is flat (you can open a full size set of prints on it) it sits about 4 feet off the ground.

I also have a set of wooden plan desk drawers. Stands about 4 feet high with about 15 drawers. They will hold a full size set of prints.

Both sit in Miami and you’re more than welcome to them.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Soi 44 not 44/1! I have widened the search to some "old" engineer types.

Get some 4x4's, knock together a frame and use a solid wood door sanded smooth, with a covering for the table top. Hinge the bottom and Bob's your uncle. A T-square and some triangles and you're in business.

Spoke to some scouser sounding pommy woman on the phone and she told me she had it.

Obviously I arrived too early before she could steal it but I was offered some hub caps on the way out!

    Nothing wrong with old-school, LT
Functional without the worry of breaking down - if you know what I mean.

Surely, with your contacts and mingling you must have been associated with the odd architect, designer, draughtman or engineer types.

In a pinch, I'm sure one can find new and used things of this nature online - particular directories and whatnot.

Best to ya in your search.
