^ Which one?
Mine is a 2:1 in law from the University of wales Aberystwyth in 1991.
I want one like KWs, think I could get used to a few hundred thousand baht per month for a couple of hours work, a driver, a maid, wonder where the best place to buy one is
^Mr T has one of those too....
this sounds like a my dick is bigger than your dick arguement.... and about as much use....
those that have dont need to flaunt it.
^back of a wheeties packet then?
^^
I think i shall start signing my name with Ll B after it.
Fair enough, Ch. You are one of the few.
Actually, all a degree really does for the person is give them a range of new tools which they can hopefully leverage into making a reasonable living. It does not guarantee a bean, though.
Thais generally go to university to make contacts & to look for a marriage partner. I have my sincere doubts in many cases, though, how much they aquire in the way of useful life tools.
On a practical note....Thai employers are very , whats the word.....'snooty' when it comes to degrees. Even someone fairly thick can get one.
If,as a farang, you don't have a degree, then prepare for the worst if you are applying for jobs in the Bangkok Post.
also enables you to get a real work permit here though kenkannif says they aren't nrcessary.Originally Posted by watterinja

^^ Very true.
I have nothing against people not having a degree, I do tend to get a little pissed off when people walk around saying they have a degree when they don't. After all, you don't see me walking around saying I don't have a degree
Is having a degree certificate from Khao San Road ethical, assuming you try to pass it off as genuine?
^ Is fraud ethical?
In the freight industry that I used to be employed in,nearly all of the Uni grads never made the grade. They were 3-4 years behind everybody else when it came to experience.
This is slowly changing and there are a few up and comers that have degrees and are making a fist of things. The problem with most of them,is that they say that the business should be done like 'this or that method' crapola.
Believe it or not, I used to do a bit of lecturing at one of the business schools.Apart from the practicalities of the business ,I used to tell 'em two things.
1)communication
2)Sales
That's it.No secret formula.Came from working with/for two of they most successful businesses in NZ.
I used to get these plebs saying that a radio/TV advertising would do this or that etc, or go on about some half arsed marketing campaign .Half of them used to look in disbelief when I told them it was shite.
The formula was this.Have extremely good communication with agents/principals and get you reps to knock on lots and lots loads of doors.
it's not all a bed of roses you know ! Bladdy driver was sick all last week and the damn maid is moaning about me getting the cat - she wants to know who has to feed it when i go overseas all the time ! - she was busy planning extra holidays to coincide with mine!Little Chuchok ^Mr T has one of those too....
A degree is NOT an education and people without degrees are not, by default uneducated. I find this attitude of "degreed" folks both arrogant in ignorant; perhaps even indicative of a limited outlook fostered by false confidence that a degree is an acheivement. A degree is not a guarantee that a person is educated or qualified, but merely a certificate of completion.Originally Posted by Whiteshiva
