    18th century convicts go online

The first convicts were sent to Australia in 1788

The records of tens of thousands of British convicts sent to Australia from the end of the 18th Century have been put online for the first time.
Details include their name, when they were convicted, the length of sentence and which penal colony they went to. Ancestry.co.uk features records of 160,000 convicts transported to Australia between 1788 and 1868. It is estimated two million Britons living today will have a convict ancestor listed in the records.

^ That's why the term "Sons of sheep stealer's" is so apt. The problem here is that if the average aussie finds there family on that web site, they will be proud.

For maximum thrill put its front legs in a pair of wellies and its back legs on a block of ice. Its efforts at running away are then ineffectual but it generates a pleasant vibrating sensation!
