    British Summer

we got major problems with flooding, loads of people need help, the government are talking about what they are going to do, but realistically doing very little,

and to cap it all our opposition leader fcuks of to africa to look at aid.

we never seem to look after our own, by the way how are things in the us after a year or two, have they helped the people over there as much as they send aid to other countries.

    makes my blood boil.

^ Yes, sorry to about the flooding. Terrible. Cars and homes lost. Lot of folks without water.

I hope the response is up on that. Very strange.

I hope no one loses their home or family's home.

Things will get back to normal pretty quickly and insurance will be paid out. I'm not sure what difference it makes if a politician goes off somewhere (except that even donating 1 penny to Africa is a waste of money).

British people need things like this every now and again just to show them that they're still a living organism.

People drown, services stop and homes are ruined, that's all.

its a bit sad for the poor poms but look at this way, if the shitty place finally goes under, the poor blighters might be able to go somewhere else and have a better life.

buggers are always whining about something or another, there arse itches, its to cold, its to hot, theres to many bloody indians or paki's or its to expensive .

    unbelievable aint it.

anyway, we dont want them in aussie as theres enough of the blighters here already.

maybe send them all to canada on a reservation or something.

I'm sorry about the floods and loss of property, but isn't the title of this thread sort of an oxymoron?

There was a couple of floods in Truro in the late eighties or early nineties... They said it had something to do with global warming but it turned out the coucil hadn't been dredging the rivers which run under the town...

Its not just the floods, its the after effects of them. We are already being told that food will be going up, milk and dairy products as half of this years crop has been lost to the weather.

Usually it is these months that give me a boost in earnings, but I've probably lost three to four weeks work in the last couple of months and finding that am having to dip into savings. OK people that have been flooded will get restitution provided they were insured, but I dont its lost work for me, something I can't really afford.

Unhappy is the land which has no heroes.......England gets a little bit wet and the great uninsured get to take a bath. Amidst much bleating and an absurd overdose of media coverage starved of any real news, a catastrophe is portrayed that in reality amounts to little more than sodden carpets and the destruction of tasteless MFI tat.

Christ knows how they would respond to real adversity when hundreds die and thousands more lose their livelihood.

It's a bore and an inconvenience, little else.

Had to laugh though at the prospect of Jet Gorgon greetin' over the missing folk in Nether Trollop in deepest Gloucestershire-on-the-bog. Don't worry old girl, I expect they'll keep their heads above water...

Some of them won't be insured now though.

Difficult to insure ones home once it is in a recognised flood plain.
