    going to a restaurant alone?

Is it socially acceptable to go to a restaurant alone?

I felt like a nice Chinese meal tonight and i had no one to go with so i went alone.. why not?

Some family who sat near me said i look lonely and i'm welcome to join their table..
    I politely declined.

Why the fuck would i want to do that?

I dine alone a lot especially when i'm abroad on holiday (alone)

I was in Oludeniz, Turkey last year and one time at breakfast in the hotel i struck up a conversation with a couple.. They were gobsmacked i'd got on a flight from the UK to Turkey ALONE, and spent an entire week sunbathing ALONE.

I love being alone, just as much (well almost) as much as being with my girl.

When I was in Korat (single) I'd go to moo grata (pork bbq) restaurant, bars (not gay) hell, even clubs, alone...

Not all the time mind... mainly with friends, but sometimes I would rock up alone... if you keep worrying what's 'socially acceptable' you'll never enjoy life.

No big deal, to my feeble mind.. I am a bit weird (ok, more than a bit) and couldn't give a toss what others think... it's my life, as long as I don't annoy or hurt anyone else.. all good no?

(I embrace my weird streak) 555

Doesn't bother me at all, but I spent years where I did more flights than most people do trips in the car.

Amazing how many fellow business travellers were in the same boat, but I learned early on not to befriend them, to avoid spending a night hearing about the ebbs and flows of the <insert pointless widget here> market.

So now I'm quite happy to go and eat when I'm hungry, company or not.

We all know people who must have someone around 24/7.

It's like the guys who must have a woman at all times, these people are lost without company, they shrivel and die when alone.

They are simply unable to function Solo, no self esteem or confidence.

Pathetic and worthless soles they are.
    Stroller is a Yerman faggot.

When i was younger i hated being by myself.

Now i am older, i love it. I can just do what i want when i want. I can wait until 4 pm to brush my hair, i can eat what and when i want. I can download movies that i want to watch.

I don't think i would like a man to infrindge on my living space. Its not living alone its being able to live with yourself. Not all the time, but most.

I do talk to myself. I have wonderful conversations with myself!! And during arguments i am always right.

I really am the sad old cat lady, aren't i. Without the cats!!! Next year, two kitties from the cat and dog home. Sadly, kittens are usually dumped there around May.

When one is young Pats most prefer the company of others, I was always around friends when young and without them would never had the blinding fun I did.

As one gets older though we find our own way and self confidence. We can choose to be with people or choose to go Solo depending on how we feel.

Myself can go Solo no problems and often still do, what I can not do is be around people I do not like.

I just leave, easy as that.

Fuk doing shit these days just to make someone else happy.

    It's a team effort.

I enjoy my own company but for some reason cannot bring myself to dine along inside a restaurant at night time.

I travel for business by myself a lot and have no problem eating at cafes etc - especially if I can sit outside and people watch but although sometimes I want to I cannot bring myself to sit inside a flash dinner joint by myself. Generally it will be a takeaway and back to the hotel room.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

    ^^

I could not think of anything worse than dining alone in a flash inside restaurant.

No fookin way, I don't like flash restaurants at the best of times. Actually avoid inside restaurants and Pubs like the plague.

    Outside is the go.

Out on the street watching the ebb and flow of the city enjoying a coldy in peace is perfect.

When I am travelling, it is always for work nowadays. Which means every meal is pre-planned by my hosts wherever I am. On the rare, rare occasions that I get a night off, the last thing I am going to do is go out and look for somewhere to eat on my own. A room service cheeseburger, a couple of cold ones and a serious chill out. Heaven. Simply heaven.

errr, why the need to point that out? Do you worry that people think you're gay?

I'm a quick learner... I have learned to cover my ass on this forum... any opening for a gay joke, and I'm toast...

*even my innocuous use of ass and opening in the same sentence, may spell trouble...

Travelling alone can have many advantages, like not having to think of anyone else, and agreeing on where to go.

I sit proudly alone with confidence, looking about me with a smug face, as if to say 'I'm dining alone so what are you gonna do about it?'
