John Lennon made a big impact in this world.
He sought a brotherhood of man & peace for all.
But, was he the New Messiah?
John Lennon made a big impact in this world.

But, was he the New Messiah?
No. And exactly what 'big impact' did he ever make on anything, other than singing a few ditties....?
No he was a very naughty boy!
If he would of kept his mouth shut about how the Beatles were bigger than god, he could well of become the Messiah.
No other person/group have had a bigger impact on the worlds population.
That brotherhood of man and love for all shit really caught on.......
^^Once again. what impact?
It is apparent that JL was not the blessed one.
Imagine there's no heaven?
Easy if you fvcking try innit
Davis they created a cultural and social revolution around the planet, there whole persona created such an impact on all peoples lives.
Except yours of course.
The love and peace era most probably the most inspiring period of many peoples lives.
Same shit Jeff.
god jesus apostles etc all BS
John Lennon had far more problems than most...
Fairer to compare him to Job and not Christ.
".....I don't believe in Beatles"
All this shit aside - he sure was a brilliant musician and lyricist.
Leave it at that.
I read that he committed murder.
No offense, but do you actually believe any of that shit? For seven or eight years, they made music. He wrote and performed songs to entertain teenage girls. I must have missed the 'love and peace era' you were so inspired by...I was in a foreign jungle killing people and trying not to get killed. The Beatles had absolutely no impact on my life, other than the fact I liked a couple of their songs. I just don't understand people who put actors and musicians, often flawed people, on pedestals and worship them.
The Beatles were a great rock'nroll band. that is all.
The idea of of '60's counter-culture' as revolutionary is such a load of baloney.
There were a few interesting ideas but 80% of it was just self-absorbed nonsense that tried to ignore or obstruct the valuable social progress that had made the west what it was and is.
I don't think John Lennon ever pretended to be anything more than what he was ; a rock and roll minstrel.
And he was one of the very good ones!
Lennon and McCartney songwriting still inspires millions.
Of course, there is always the Manson interpretation of Beatles music.
Davis don't get me wrong, your time in the jungle could possibly be why you view them differently, the impact of the love and peace movement had a negative result for you guys returning home.
Though look at what was happening Nixon trying to get him deported.
He was under constant survelliance.
they had an impact on govts and how citizens viewed the world
Whatever views you have of them they certainly created change around the globe.
We're just fated to disagree on this. The 'love and peace' movement, which I had never heard of, had absolutely no impact on me when I returned from Vietnam - none. "They created change around the globe". Once again, how? Please, just one example of something on a global level that changed because of one of this guy's tunes.
There has NEVER been a Messiah. There's only simple minded people that need a crutch to support their own stupidity. Nice guidelines in most religions but it's all a crock of SHIT to control the populous and that goes for ALL religions.
lets look at it another way, the Ed sullvan show the night the beatles appeared 73 million watched that show
kennedy had of been assissinated three months before the beatles arrived and they energised the country.
They changed the way people viewed music. and they brought hope to millions.
They started a revolution.
