Yup. Tree is up. Some of the outside stuff is up. Should all be up in a few days. It's the Philippines...Xmas starts in September.
In a couple of weeks I'll start.
Not yet- but think the missus will be on it soon.
I reckon I can stretch it out for a cuppla weeks before getting battered into getting the deccy's up.
we need a santa facey thingy , one of these , whatever they're called?
Nope. Strict rules, here. Up 12 days before Xmas, at the earliest - down 12 days after, at the latest.
The missus decorates the gen-you-ine plastic tree - and I put the lights on the fukka - job done.
Oh, we have a few decs inside the house, too - just a few, mind. Same rules, too.
Luv it!
I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.
In my house, go up after Thanksgiving...come down after New Year.
got them all out from under the stairs last night, but to be honest too depressed to put them up. The decorations at shops seem crap this year, last year the local central was great, this year hardly anything and no big tree, tight bastards.
Nidhogg, do you have kids ?
I've never heard you mention them before.
I thought about getting a tree today, it's not the same here in Thailand though, especially as the kids will be expected at school on Xmas day.
Nope, no tree, bah humbug, I'm over , it xmas is for kids, pretty sure the wife ( Buddhist) will demand one sometime soon though, and pressies she likes that bit
my wife swings from Buddhist to Christian around the middle of December, seems to change back around the middle of January strangely enough
^^ mine's the same, BLD, I don't feel any Xmas spirit here in Thailand at all even with all the Xmas trees and music outside the malls.
Check this out, it's outside Emporium shopping mall, next to all the decorations, not far from the huge tree. I've just had to tell the Missus to move the daughter out of the photo.
How many Thai kids are gonna be doing their 2 finger salute next to this soon......
Don't forget the Christmas music....
Saturday is the day...
The films will also be downloaded.
We're going with the Polar Express to commence proceedings...
Yes, the tree is up. I'll post up a pic when I've got some time.
bar humbug, wasnt till i came to LoS i got to thinking what a crock of shit exmas is,
without children and jesus in your life that is,
tried to bring christmas to the village for a couple of years without any success,
tesco do there best with the chrissy carrols and dressing there workers in elves suits, thais sort of say, what the fucks all this,
if they ever realy understand its just another way of getting pressies and money, it will take off in a big way.
so no decks this year, thank christ,
life is what happens to us while we are making other plans
I gave them live video snow on Saturday morning, which included freezing my fingers making snowballs for the grand niece...so it is officially cold enough for Christmas decorations in out part of Thailand.
I won't let on that the snow lasted all of Saturday morning... if you lot don't...
Me and the Dragon Lady will be in Vietnam, the daughter in Thailand and the son is no longer at home so this year the neighbours will be spared the Clark Griswald treatment.
No because Fuck Christmas !
I'm going for a traditional Dickensian Christmas this year. Malnutrition, Tuberculosis, Rickets, and the kid will have to earn his keep sweeping chimneys, or chipping away at narrow coal seams for 14 hours per day before he gets any presents.
I have some trimmings and a ratty old plastic tree that I will have to dig out from under 15 tons of other detritus chucked willy-nilly into the space under the stairs. But I'm putting that off until about 3 days before the event itself.
Not yet. Normally Mrs. R is on it like a flash but she's got other things keeping her occupied at the moment and I can't be arsed.
So unless the kids request it probably won't. We getting the fock outta Dodge soon anyway so don't see the point. Ba humbug and all that.
The twatt opposite us has put high power bright blue led lights all around his bungalow so shines in our bedroom all fukin night .
I wouldn't mind but they have never had any kids and they are both well into their 60's
Electricity is far too cheap
I live alone. What's the point?
I will be drunk & stoned dancing to 'Stop the cavalry' and 'Last Christmas' on Xmas day though. That's about as festive as it gets round here
invite yer cousin round Pat
