    Things you've had confiscated

A friend of mine just had a spanner key-ring confiscated at Norwich Airport, and is least amused. He voiced his anger and posted the pic to noseybook.

10 mins later it had been taken down.

I have also had a small spanner confiscated, along with a snowboard bindings tool, bio oil for the Mrs and a litre of Jamesons, that I can think of right now.

What have you had confiscated, at the airport or elsewhere?

Bottle of duty free cognac at swampy when transiting to domestic from international

I opened it to "prove" it was cognac and not a bomb then emptied it into the "bin"

Must've spoiled their stash of confiscated duty free. No smiles for L and F

THat was like my bottle of Jameson, cost me 2,500 bht at SUV where it was purchased and sealed in a tamper-proof bag. Connected flights in Amsterdam (already checked in from BKK) and they wouldn't let me take it to the next flight. Took it to the toilet and gulped it until i puked then flushed the rest. Bastards.

I foolishly bought some duty free on my way to Manila via Bkk with hand luggage.

Dawned on me checking in that I'd fucked up. So I slipped it to the pretty girl doing check in and said "have a party on me". She blushed and hid it by her feet.

I'd like to think she had a good time showing off her expensive gift.

Had a very nice knife nicked off me by Syrian Arab airways (when they still existed) on a flight over to India.

It was taken off me at Theifsrow and promised to return when I left the plane.

Touch down in deli and it had gone missing.

To be fair, they did offer me a rusty pair of pliers or some blunt scissors as compensation.

Consistent logic and reasoning right out the window, as respective policies change on a whim.....'cause that's the way we like [and accept] such aggrandizing.

A box of 50 cigarette lighters purchased from Macro, Chiang Rai, confiscated at Darwin International Airport, Australia.

Apparently the import of said lighters could adversely affect the Australian cigarette lighter industry.

Every individual lighter was documented and numbered.

I'd landed at 05.00 and cleared at 09.00.

    Cnuts.

Why is it that in duty free they stock a high end range of Swiss army knives in a nice glass cabinet, when I had one consficated on my way out of Heathrow

Once again it's a classic case of double standards

I had a small bag of souvenir stones confiscated at Tenerife airport, Spain last year.

The customs officer kicked off big time in the usual Mediterranean/Canarian manner.

It had flagged up on his scanner, fook knows why.

A handful of different rock samples from the volcano.

He literally snatched them out off my sons hand when i mentioned the word "volcanic", fooking jumped up uniformed b'stard retard.

We got some back in the hold anyway.

A dozen packets of Jok mix, (just the foil packs without the cups to save space) and a packet of Thai basil seeds, after which they went through everything I was carrying. Even had to crank up the laptop so they could check for porn.
That's the last time I've ever declared anything.

A 500 ml jar of Vegemite (present for an Aussie in Chiang Mai) when I was departing Melbourne. Apparently I'm only allowed 100 ml of liquid or gel.

not taken off me in person but I ordered a poker chip set and 2 pack card shuffler from Amazon a few months ago. I got a call from customs asking why I needed my package. Amazon had labelled it as a professional casino kit

3 months later it was returned to the supplier and I got a refund!
I would post pictures but life's too short.

A couple of those electronic mozzie "Tennis Racquets" coming into Australia.

Dammed things were for sale in Bunnings a year later.

I think it's a bit oppresive to expect passengers not to drink their duty free booze after they've paid for it and carrying it with them in a plastic bag

The same happened to me, ordered a poker table from eBay and customs turned it away. First I heard was when I got an email from eBay saying they had already fought my case with the seller as they said they ship to Thailand and got me a full refund.

A bottle of water, taken off me before boarding a plane, at Heathrow, purchased at Heathrow in the departures lounge...

Once, at Stanstead, I was having one of those Champagne and salmon meals, but it was a bit tight on time, so had to rush to the plane with three quarters of a bottle of champers - they let me on, I sat down and put it in the stringy type holder thing in front of me (Ryan Air, never again...). The 'stewardess' said it had to be put in the overhead locker, I said that was a bad idea, she bought a cork from the back, put it in, I said that was a bad idea, my overhead compartment was full, so she put it in the bloke's in front, I repeated that this was a very bad idea and that she should just let me hold it... Anyways, we take off, start to rise, a bit of pressure change, a pop, and then the bloke in front gets a shower, on his head, from the overhead locker. I had a great view with the angle of rising plane... I shouldn't have laughed (certainly not so loudly), but... I've always thought they should have confiscated that bottle as I entered the plane.
How do I post these pictures???
