Yep he is. Rumours around that he is going to call a snap election as the labour parties standing has gone up in the polls since he became PM. About two or three wekks ago I think.
Blair stepped down after being the longest serving PM in British history. 11 years. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
Now, it's Mr. Brown.
More news at 11.
Tony Blair is the longest serving Labour prime minister 2nd May 1997 to 27th June 2007.
Margaret Thatcher served from 1979 to 1990.
Britain's longest serving prime minister was Lord Liverpool from 1812 to 1827.
yes, it will go downhill now for the UK and will only get worse when Labour lose the election, as the conservatives would be much worse
Luckily, you already had no credibility to lose, so I shall ignore this nonsense.Originally Posted by Butterfly

I'm a bit confused as to when this happened.
I read the BBC website nearly everyday and am rather concerned that I missed it. Did it happen on a Sunday afternoon or something whilst I was having my afternoon walk?
^errm, it's been in all the news for over a month. Do they block UK news there MrsQ?
Hell, it happended so long ago, they've even had enough time to hold a by-election in Tony's old manner (last night, which Labour won but with a reduced majority)
it doesnt seem important anymore. too far away

Ah well.
I'm a bit schocked.
Are we pulling out of Iraq now then?
I think we should dump Gordon Brown and have a celebrity prime minister.
How about that chap who presents Clive Anderson talks back? ..Always thought he would be good and he looks the part.

^ 3 RAF guys were killed yesterday in what is being termed "indirect fire". Can someone tell me wtf "indirect fire" means?
In the context of warfare, direct fire means aiming through a sight directly at the target. This sight may be open fore and back sight or optical.
These guys were killed by mortar fire which is indirect fire
^ oh. I thought it meant they were not aiming at them.
Where's that twat, William Hague? Although he's an idiot, he might still have some ideas to take the Brits out of shit.
