Murder - Real Close to Home

Yeah, a fish vendor gunned down for getting into another's territory in Chiang Mai was gunned down with dozens of M16 rounds. I came across it on a bike ride as the cops were picking up the 223 casings off the highway back in 2007. No arrest and not much of an attempt at finding the trigger guys. No witnesses so onward ever. The guy's 11 year old son was next to him in the truck as his dad was shot up, but luckily he was physically okay. I wonder what his emotional state is like today though after witnessing an event like that. Have to say that my honeymoon with Thailand started sliding downhill that day.

I just came upon this thread today. Little people don't put a hit on Big people and survive to tell the tale. Whoever put the hit has to have plenty of leverage on that turf. The result clearly shows. Sad but true.

I can't figure out why your local R/E hi-so didn't have armed security when he was out and about , particularly if he was calling in some chips...(unless they were paid to walk).

Update: The local politician and businessman who was without a doubt behind this murder is dead.

He was in the market this morning and a motorcycle pulled up next to him and the driver blew him away and drove off.

What goes around, comes around.

He had a lot of political and business enemies.

The police will launch a thorough and vigorous investigation, possibly after lunch, and expect to be done by nap time.

The ladies here are quite pleased.

I wonder if this will not escalate further. Shoot one person, the offended can react similarly or in another fashion. Retaliate by shooting the possible culprit will only increase the bullet ridden body count.

Whichever, as it's was a way of life for you, you will know what precautions to take.
