Swimming in the sea in Pattaya

I like to go for a daily dip in the morning. I have met a few expats who tell me that the water is full of sewage. Is there really any truth in this? I would have a hard time believing this. Just expats moaning, right?

Doesn't matter where one goes in the sea, there's sewage. I let my kids play in the sea off Pattaya. We just make sure they have a good wash once we get back to the hotel.

I think it depends where. If something touches your nose stop swimming?

Interesting, I have also been told that the best place to swim is just past the gay beach. I do like Jomtien, that place is a lot more chilled out. May relocate there thinking about it.

From a purely geographic point of view where is the gay beach and past being which side.

I'm happy with Naklua but rarely venture into the water.

I think they are just referring to the other expats

Don't believe these scare stories. It is a thriving ecosystem and supports a healthy community of such species as the TurdFish and the Condomfish.

You just reminded me Harry. I worked for local government in the Engineers Dep't which included the city sewers. The size of a condom when caught in a flow made it huge. We used to refer to them as 'Toilet Salmon'.

It's full of shit, piss, oil, chemicals, and any other detritus that companies can save a baht on by dumping it straight into the sea.

Of course you can. Keep in mind tis not pristine unpolluted water. As above, industrial waste and sewage abound.
Welcome to TD. Ignore the wankers and enjoy.
