    Goals achieved and future aims

I think many of us are becoming a little jaded with Thailand. It's not one huge over-riding factor but a succession of things that have built up over time. Even I'm beginning to question my future here more than I used to and as I become a bit more financially secure (thanks to a good financial planner) I'm beginning to look at options. It might only be some TV programme that I've downloaded off the net about the opportunities to buy and renovate 50,000 pound properties in Italy, but I'm giving them more than a passing glance these days. My wife watches this stuff with me - and she feels the same. She's really had a bellyful of life in Thailand. More so than I have.

As far as I'm concerned it's because Thailand works for me at this moment in time. I've got a few irons in the fire and by and large I enjoy my daily routine. It could be better but it could be a whole lot worse. I've become something of an anti-social self-employed hermit and to tell the truth I enjoy it.

Can you tell us more about the type of person you think is becoming jaded?

I would think that those here who are teaching for a few baht would fall into this bracket more than the retired guys who financial futures are assured.

Who gives a fcuk what you earn you Brummie twat?

You always seem keen to discuss what you earn or what you are worth.

You remind me of a character that Harry Enfield created in the nineties. The guy was a businessman from Wolverhampton who would boast about "How many businesses he had built up in the West Midlands"

That character was a twat but I'm sure you are just the same. Coming from a working class background you lack the discretion that class brings, hence you're eagerness to tell us about your status or wealth.

In life you find that the wealthy folk are normally the ones who have to shout the least about it while the fokin piss pot idiots like you claim to be wealthy because they have a Toyota Vios that is paid for.

Do you still drive the Vios? what are they 7 grand?

I think you are one of the biggest fokin dickheads i have come across in Thailand I would love the opportunity to say it to your face.

Now fcuk off back to Ajarn and peddle some more fake credential shit.

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I'm miserable now
I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

    In my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die ?

Two lovers entwined pass me by
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

    In my life
Oh, why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die ?

What she asked of me at the end of the day
    Suthiporn would have blushed

"You've been in Bangkok too long" she said
    And I (naturally) fled

    In my life
    Why do I smile
At people who I'd much rather kick in the eye ?

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I'm miserable now

"You've been in LOS too long" she said
    And I (naturally) fled

    In my life
Why do I give valuable time
To people who don't care if I live or die ?

"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Was that the "I AM CONSIDERABLY RICHER THAN YOU" character? indeed!

Phil gets a hard time but consider all the shibboleths Phil has overcome; most Brummie council house pikies end up in jail or dead from the skag... His "Mom" must be dead proud of the grafter of the family.

One of the reasons I like Thailand is because the population at large do not complain if you use too many metaphors, or sentences with slightly obvious nonsense

for me, if it's not broke, fix it, and if I have a bird in the hand, the one in the bush can also be happy

Phil's Brummie brouge and constant "look at me 24" colour TV" boasts give away his white trash origins.

I always thought that B.Phil was okay on Ajarn - I never read any of the TEFL stuff....The problem is though ever since he once admitted that he used to be a 'New Romantic' I can't help but always imagine him looking like Mrs Doubtfire....I just can't shake the image.

Yep....very common type of thread during the day.
    Classic.

Can't even dream about this in today's TD atmosphere.
Nice that you can still dig this shit up within the deepest TD archive.
    Most of it still there.

    ....nice bump, btw.
