Thai women and their midlife crisis

It seems that most Thai women lose it when they reach 40 or close to 40

I have at least 4 local expats friends with wives in that age range who went completely psycho. Mine who used to be very reliable has suddenly turned into a complete nightmare, becoming and acting like a spoiled teenager after being a reliable housewife for so many years. It's very difficult and above all very painful to accept or understand that new situation, above all when it comes out of nowhere.

    It usually goes like this:

    1. They neglect the kids and leave them with the maids all day, so they can spend more time with their friends
    2. Their friends is the group of harpies girlfriends, usually divorced or single, they hangout with and gossip all day about their husbands achievements and the assets they have under their control
    3. They eventually start to go out more often at nights with that group, leaving families duties behind
    4. They start to have side actions with other men when their husbands are out of the country for business. Apparently in the expat community this is quite common for Thai wives to act like this as they don't like to be left alone, even for a few days.
    5. They want to keep face about their social status no matter what, and start to act like bargirls if they don't get what they need to support that status in front of their friends.

A couple of friends had their wives making death threats, stalking and acting psycho, and eventually leaving the home and leaving the kids behind so they can pursue a different lifestyle and have some fun. It seems complete irresponsible, and yet they think they can get away with it.

From loving mothers and housewife to spoiled teenagers with an ego and attitude, what could possibly trigger such a change ? hormones ? education ? bubble environment ? anyone else with that problem ?

apparently it gets worse after they hit 50 !!! no wonder men go after younger wives, the old ones are simply broken after a certain age. This is not what I had in mind for a Thai wife.

Also watch our for mid wife crisis, it may of course be the wider social issue of generalisation, some democratic husbands don't describe their wifes duties but more an alliance of best friends.

of course, when you confront them with the truth and try to engage a conversation about their attitude, they flee or scream at you and start to blame you for everything instead of taking responsabilities for their actions.

No shame, no memory, no gratitude for all we have done for them. All they seem to care about is their group of "HiSo" harpies.

If I wanted a Nana girlfriend, I would get a 20yr old one in Nana, not a 40yr old one at home.

    What's the solution ?

your 4 expat mates are probably a bunch of tossers who have brought it all on themselves by negligence, whoremongering and drinking all day.

probably, but they would be discrete and take care of their wives financially and emotionally

but in some ways you are right, we are partially responsible too

the question is how to fix it ? some friends who went through that stage before tell me it take their wives between 6 months to 2 years to calm down and get back to reality

dont marry a slag and dont act like a slag husband yourself.

instead marry someone from a similar social background to yourself who either speaks your language fluently, or you are able to speak their language fluently.

    maids
a "reliable housewife" is, i take it, someone who does not have employment outside the house and whose "duties" are to tske care of the home and those who reside in it, if so, then why the fuck should she need a maid?

They want to keep face about their social status no matter what,
it was the husband who initially placed her on that pedestal (house, maid, car, clothes etc.), so they had better make sure she remains there!

These relationship issues come down to a combination of comparatively wealthy farang and aspirational Thai women.
If the relationship is based on her upwardly mobile status in the eyes of her peer group, what can you do once you have lifted her out of relative poverty and she still wants more.
Sorry but the farang has created this beast and must now live with the consequences. At the risk of sounding trite, it may have been a good idea to say NO just once in a while, before the avarice got out of hand.

Flights to Kiev are very reasonable this time of year, and there's a special offer on the Try Before you Buy Tour - 5 for the price of 3; a 7 day trip which also includes a nice coach tour of Kiev's cultural treasures and 10% discount at Kiev airport dutyfree stores.

Well, I've hardly done a representative sample. But as far as I can tell, roughly 100x more stable.

The perimenopause (the initial stage) may only last for a few months or for some women it may continue for as long as 10 years. The average duration of the perimenopause is around four years.

The menopause can cause a wide range of physical and psychological symptoms.

it is a precursor to the bouffant hair do , constant visits to the hairdresser for black dye and what ever tint is presumed fashionable at the time and the wearing of severe traditional silk suits in an effort to emulate the hiso mama s that inhabit their television education

the age when they realise they cannot change horses and are flailing about for some meaning in their lives
