16 plus years but getting a bit bored with it all now, probably once my son finishes college I shall try a different few countries where the natives have a tiny bit of intellect and aren't all trying to work out the best way to rip you off, or if they are at least they try with a bit of finese.

We aint all as old as you Naa, actually I even have Malaysia in mind, I think a couple of years in a civilised country may do me some good, get some of those old novel values back, you know things like thinking that it is a good idea to have a driving license, knowing that if your having trouble walking it is probably not a good idea to drive, stuff like that that is taken for granted in normal countries

Visited couple times. Then quit the big job in 1995 and decided to backpack for awhile. Neighbour won a HK-BKK-HK ticket and gave it to me. Tried it, liked it, came back. Lived in one-room huts with big balconies, painted, wrote, swam, adpoted beach dogs, learned to appreciate simplicity. Moved when consrtuction or techno bars encroached on my space. Started a biz, failed, got disgruntled by the obnoxious lager louts moving to the neighbourhood, and decided it was time to become a resident of my own country again. Sigh. I do like to keep in touch with Thai stuff and aficionado-types, so I play here. Just hope I can move to one of the small islands in the Inside Passage, where the orcas, sea lions, bear, and deer play. Hopefully, there won't be many "eh" Canadians there.

I came the first time in '74 for holidays and then many times in the ensuing years for business...

One year I made 13 trips courtesy of the NZ govt...wore me out and convinced me to move here rather than travel...

Came to live in '96 and I have to say that the longer i'm here the more I like it...and the better my life is...

Don't think so, many people responding.
Haven't done anything against the rules.
Funny thing is, is that it is the same as here, 4 to 6 years is the most common answer.

Can you post the results here or do I really have to insult my PC and take a look myself?

Well.....errrrm......it's Marmites fault. I started copying his dates, noticed that there were a few missing years in his and then corrected. Cept I forgot to correct that one and I couldn't edit after I posted. Anyway, it's hardly scientific. Pick either one on either side. Who will know?
