can u actually get a UK state pension sent over to SEA?

well, like through the bank at least, I mean can any old pension do the trick even if it's the most basic one, or must one remain homeless on the street of UK for the privelege?

Yes you can but not pension benifit top up, you also won't be able to get any increases so if your basic pension is 100 today it will remain at that forever, no index linked, no nothing .

However those who have not began to draw their pension yet will receive the new amount from very shortly , it is going to be a minimum of 151 per week the full amount to be announced very soon .

Uunderstand that but anyone claiming their UK GOVERNMENTstate pansion in Asian needs to understand that the peinsion that they claim "whilist living in Asia " will be the most basic the UK has to offer and that they will not receive the increases and adjustments normaly given.

    NOT CORRECT
Each nation has different arrangements and treaty for example pensioners in ASEAN and Asian state Philipnnes,Israel,Mauritus get upgrade there are unique deals from former CIS Moldova Transdinistra statelss etc Russia but not Australiai Thailand etc.I think it is better the enquirer seeks official advice from the UK government agency than hearsay.

As well as this I suggest you contact them your accountant and decide where it is more tax effective to be domiciled.

    https://www.gov.uk/government/public...-state-pension

    https://www.gov.uk/state-pension-if-...abroad/payment

These links deal with your original enquiry and the countries where increases are paid, once the payments start. You will notice the USA is not on this list as no memorandum of understanding exists.

The new state pension referred to By Nigel is due to come into force in April 2016. If you already receive the state pension, you will not get the new rates. Many of those who opted out of serps, or if their employers opted out on their behalf, will receive a reduced amount. The new rules are very complex.

I understand where your coming from mate as in the PAST the pension was made up of a basic + top ups .

What the gov has done in its infinite wisdom has increased the amount ex pats will get who will become the NEW claimants shortly .

In the PAST a lot of ex pats did not qualify for the top ups only the basic amount which wasn't topped up as the increases arrived .

I actually questioned the new scheme with the gov pensions outfit 2 years ago when this new scheme was put forward .

They say OVERALL it will save the UK pension scheme money as all NEW claimants will not cost the money sorting out all the bits and pieces , so for example X amount of money has been put in a pot to be distributed amonst Y amount of claimants and thats it NOTHING more NO other allowances .

Whether or not ex pats will get the % rises as and when they occur is another matter

Dave I think Chas has kindly covered your question for me

ok, then so sounds ok, but what I really want is to get it early, like I'm not old enough yet and the though of having to teach a bunch of chink monkeys english in bangkok or cambodia doesn't appeal, so anyway round that??

The chink monkeys will be devastated that your prolixity and didactic insouciance will be lost to them.

As to the trick of ageing early so as to get an old aged pension in advance is one of the hidden secrets only revealed in the special members room when you are old enough.

I trust these encomia will combobulate you in anticipation and you'll eschew in a desultory and nuagtory nuace any FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION

in my experience the monkeys don't really care that much about who throws them the banana, as long as they get to eat it!

I'm sorry mate , but if your in that generation that begin sentences with the " like" word you are so far away from your pension it aint worth worrying yet.

Do you also go super trendy sometimes and begin each sentence with the " so " word ?

    i.e.

" Soooooooooo ( pause ) like when I am like old enough like will I like get my like pension sent out to SEA like ? "

I'd forget about the state pension as if you reach retirement age and that's your only or main source of income you're fuked and going to be living your retirement in abject poverty.
