How can any human being eat smelly fish ?

Good point...... if some food smells a bit ripe to me or has an unusual texture my high gag 'Rolf' reflex kicks in.

Cheese, oysters and fish are normally the 3 culprits. Oh and durian>> It used to be tomatoes when i was young but I like them now, so I'd say that was a texture thing, like the oysters


So how do you get adventurous with new foods when your senses are saying No?

Cabbage and sprouts. Smell and texture are disgusting.

I did go through a phase of eating raw cabbage with a little salt added. Once the stuff is cooked though, it wreaks and the smell makes me heave.

It's smelly fish that really turns my stomach. I've acquired a taste for Durian after first disliking it. Otherwise that's it.

Ever since I had dengue and in the middle of it had some thick noodles, for some reason even the sight of thick noodles makes me want to puke now. Shame - I used to like them.

Liver and kidney - the texture as well - especially if not prepared properly and are a bit old, and you get that metallic taste with it as well. Liver pate though - yum yum.

Back in May, while in Tokyo, my SiL and I got up before dawn and went to Tsukiji Market for sushi. The freshest sushi in the world, right there. They serve up whatever comes in that morning. The chef plopped a raw sea urchin on my dish. It was the test, if I couldn't eat it then, I never would be able to. I ate it. It still sucked. That shit tastes like what I imagine some rotting dead thing on the beach tastes.

Mum used to make steak and kidney pies and she would have to pick out the bits of kidney from mine before I would eat it.
