I agree, I never understood what the big deal about beer Lao was. I thought it tasted similar to Leo in fact.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
The one difference I could spot was not in the flavor but in the buzz, it didnt make me the least bit tired and reminded me of when I had a couple glasses of red wine.

A few weeks ago I had a big night after watching some rugby. Drank gallons of Heiniken and woke up Sunday feeling good. My voice sounded a bit funny but this has been beginning to happen the day after for some reason. Sunday night we went out for barbque and I only had one big bottle of Singha. Fuck me Monday I had the biggest hang over I've had for a long time. Leave singha alone now.
Like beer Lao and Heiny, don't drink Tiger. Last night I over in doudged in some NZ red wine that I'd been saving, brought back a dozen at christmas
feeling a bit nackered at the moment
Tiger gave me a minging hangover once, so I don't drink it now.
Singha is getting less bad the more I drink it.
San Miguel was an excellent drop in The Philippines (go on for hours, only a small hangover), but it's not quite the same here.
I think Singha, being a bit sweet, goes well with Thai food. But, after a few bottles I feel really full. (Then again, maybe that's the food....)Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog
Gee, you don't; even bother to read the OP and then ask me to repeat myselfOriginally Posted by Butch
One place you can't get it is Carrefour in Chiang Mai. They're out
Rim Ping has it on occasion, now being one. It's 115 baht a bottle unless they mis-marked it, used to be 85. Tops here in Cm has it as well sometimes.
Only skimmed...far too long a post to read...
by the way, thanks for putting yourself out...

Can you get Corona anywhere in Thailand? Good beer that is, with a lime on top.
Yes.Originally Posted by babygirl
What's with the lime? This started three or four decades ago a the Mexican beer called Tecate. It was later appropriated by Corona, a really awful beer, in an attempt to attract the yuppie crowd. In fact, Corona was marketed in Japan during the 90's as "yuppie beer".Originally Posted by babygirl
Interesting because the lime was originally used to cut the foul taste of a really terrible beer.
At 150 baht a bottle and no taste why? you can even get bud light in cans of you really want watery tasteless crap. the street vendors sell a very nice limeade drink for ten baht a much better use of the fruit IMO.Originally Posted by babygirl
Nothing better on a hot day than a very, very cold corona with a lime stuffed in the top.Street vender limeade...my arse!!
^You 'mirican west coast bed wetters would prolly want to wear gloves to hold a really, really cold beer.
You upside fellers always wanna "hold' yer beer doncha? Drink the fuckin' thing and be done with it. These guys crack me up, get 'em with a woman it's all over in 2 minutes, but give 'em a beer? the wanna hold it, nurse it. Hot day, cold beer; tip it up put it down. Empty.
Maybe you guys oughta try them coronitas; 7 oz beers maybe then you could get on down yer neck before it "gets too warrrm." Perfect girls beer. Buncha sissies.
haha^^ Nothing girlsy about Corona.
M,m,m,m my Corona! 150 baht is pretty cheap compared to here. It's like 3.50USD.
Nothing like a cold, cold beer on a hot summers day! Those cold frosty mugs hit the spot.
Corona is horrible, try it without the lime and it tastes like urine. No wonder it's a girl's drink, can't make the difference, must remind them of their boyfriends penis

At <34 baht to the dollar it's closer to $5.00 and it has it's place basically piss colored water.
Now, This:
Is a beer with flavor. Tastes Good cold, gets better as it warms up.
^they actually make the best home brew beer kits IMO.
^If it really includes a CO2 bottle no thanks. (sorry Baldrick i took that as a joke.) This brew has a nice brown sediment in the bottom of each bottle, the beer is live, let it warm a bit and save a few drops with the sediment. pour that in and the drops go to work tiny trails of the smallest bubbles stream to the top all the while you're drinkin it. This is beer worth taking the time to enjoy. Some folks avoid the sediment. I like it.
I've got a few left, Nah, I'll just drink one night, post drunken ramblings on Teakdoor
The beer kits I used to buy in NZ had no such thing as a CO2 kit.The draft was bloody nice.have an inch of sediment at the bottom of the bottle.
Jesus ... a picture of a Coopers when I'm on my fifth bottle of Chang. Grew up on that stuff mate, reckon the pale ale is better, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. Dead easy to brew yourself using Coopers Home Brew Kits ... and whacking gas in it is a big no-no. The Coopers home brew website - Australian Beers, Ales, Stout and Homebrews - Coopers Brewery
