Keeping Up appearances?
One wonders if anyone really cares. Displaying your apparent wealth and success by designer this that and the other,latest smart phone or sporting an overpriced take out coffee cup.
I suspect that many may assume your designer undies/watch/dress/suit, jewelry, yada yada is probably a copy unless you are moving in circles with mega bucks…even then a cubic zirconium has better color and clarity than anything other than a mega expensive diamond and likely replaces jewelry lodged in a safety deposit. Funny old world….

Not me. I drink local Batangas coffee. I wear no watch or jewelry. My phone is a $100, 13-year old Nokia dumb phone. My normal attire is swim trunks and a tank top.

Not guilty on this one......

I spend sod all on clothes for myself designer or otherwise, my car is a twenty year old Volvo estate that's a beast on fuel but as it never breaks down I never think about replacing it, I own no Jewelry but I am guilty of a fondness for half decent phones and computers, my main phone iphone4, and computer are both close to five years old.
I'm about as flash as a spent candle.

Do my M&S undercrackers make me a fashionista?

My Nokia is something the GF rejected a few years ago. I think it can connect to the interwebs but no idea how or why.

I think it is important to keep up appearances.

I like to appear like a bum most times.

My only flash is Luigi Batani trousers which I buy four of when I infrequently holiday in Thailand. And I don't compromise on shoes. Otherwise Casio watch, supermarket undies and socks, and most of the time wearing work-supplied uniform.

Me too except I was given a phone smarter than me which I basically use as an alrm/torch and camera, radiois a nice feature when in city

Generally it's the poorest who want to show off the most.

Most of the millionaires around these parts go around looking like tramps.
